Piggy ![]() RE: what turbo is this... - Tom - 30-11-2012 T2's are not huge. Edit: Googled a little bit and all i found is TBO228 says its citreon. Edit2: From a xantia 2.1? RE: what turbo is this... - Piggy - 30-11-2012 Lol!! Suggestions for replacement? Something not too big.. a t25? RE: what turbo is this... - Piggy - 30-11-2012 Rekon will fit behind the engine and bulkhead though?! RE: what turbo is this... - Piggy - 30-11-2012 exactly...hence my issue!! RE: what turbo is this... - Ruan - 02-12-2012 Thought you didn't like revvy diesels? If you don't, stay stock.... Do some research into bigger but better turbos... Bigger =/= better but at the same time, bigger doesn't necessarily mean more lag if you choose well... RE: what turbo is this... - Piggy - 02-12-2012 ok...fair comment...what would you suggest? ![]() RE: what turbo is this... - Ruan - 02-12-2012 Do some research and find out what would be best, I've written my opinion on turbos countless times, have a look through some previous posts, I've explained how A/R, wheel sizing and efficiency affects things, you should make your decision based on this ![]() RE: what turbo is this... - Piggy - 02-12-2012 cool...will do...cheers RE: what turbo is this... - cwspellowe - 02-12-2012 To be honest, even if you found a more efficient newer equivalent of the T2 you'd make decent power, I worked out my T2 at 28psi was about 60% or less efficient, if you could find one that operates at 75%+ efficient with the same flow you'd see good improvements as the less efficient they get, the more they just make heat instead of flow. As Ruan said though, reading is your friend. I just spent a month and two turbos getting a setup that works and it's epic. It's so much more rewarding knowing you've gone out, looked into something and made it work, especially when it's different to the norm. Anyone can buy a td04 and a set of adapter plates and make it work, but that's no fun ![]() RE: what turbo is this... - Piggy - 02-12-2012 (02-12-2012, 08:38 PM)cwspellowe Wrote: To be honest, even if you found a more efficient newer equivalent of the T2 you'd make decent power, I worked out my T2 at 28psi was about 60% or less efficient, if you could find one that operates at 75%+ efficient with the same flow you'd see good improvements as the less efficient they get, the more they just make heat instead of flow. thats true... RE: what turbo is this... - silverzx - 03-12-2012 Nothing wrong with a T25 shlags! ![]() RE: what turbo is this... - CJ_Derv - 03-12-2012 (02-12-2012, 08:38 PM)cwspellowe Wrote: Anyone can buy a td04 and a set of adapter plates and make it work, but that's no fun i used to like you ![]() haha it will be fun making a (genuine) hybrid TD04 setup which will be unlike the norm ![]() RE: what turbo is this... - cwspellowe - 03-12-2012 Mountie lad has done that already sir, remember the 19twentyT with a gazillion torkz? RE: what turbo is this... - CJ_Derv - 03-12-2012 HAHAHA oh shitt no that was a 18g turbine off a TD05 ![]() Well mines a 15g already but going for the 19T soon ![]() RE: what turbo is this... - cwspellowe - 03-12-2012 Pfft, I chopped 10" of bulkhead away, loads of clearance now. Did a turbo change with the engine in situ ![]() RE: what turbo is this... - CJ_Derv - 03-12-2012 (03-12-2012, 12:29 PM)cwspellowe Wrote: Pfft, I chopped 10" of bulkhead away, loads of clearance now.
