Fitting Headunit Surround? - JTaylor2005 - 16-11-2014 Hey all. I have fitted my new headunit using the provided headunit cage and then went to try and fit the surround that I bought as an adapter from eBay. I can't get it to clip on anywhere. In fact I see no clips on the surround and have no idea how I am supposed to get it to stay on :S Also when I fit the surround I can't get the pioneer surround part to fit either so I can see all the cage anyway. Its a total mess haha. Any suggestions on how to do a neat job of this as it is really getting on my nerves how crap it looks lol. Thanks, Jack RE: Fitting Headunit Surround? - Iceman299 - 16-11-2014 Post some pics up dude RE: Fitting Headunit Surround? - JTaylor2005 - 16-11-2014 Back in a minute then haha. Will have to go get them on my phone. RE: Fitting Headunit Surround? - Toms306 - 16-11-2014 That's about as good as it gets tbh, aftermarket stereos don't fit properly with the surround, always annoyed me as well lol. RE: Fitting Headunit Surround? - JTaylor2005 - 16-11-2014 Here are a few pictures of it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Or not. I can only get them onto facebook as my USB cable is broken so im stuffed if it wont load facebook images :/ RE: Fitting Headunit Surround? - Niall - 16-11-2014 The cage is supposed to hold it in but most aftermarket ones don't. I just used double sided tape to stick mine in RE: Fitting Headunit Surround? - JTaylor2005 - 16-11-2014 Ahh I see. Yeahh my cage fits nice and snug. The actual adapter part from eBay doesn't seem to have anywhere for the cage to even hold it anyway. Its a terrible design haha. And tbf it barely fits correctly or fills up the gapes around the headunit anyway. If I wanted to put the facia on I would have to remove the pioneer surround and show all the front lip of the cage :S its rubbish lol. RE: Fitting Headunit Surround? - Mattcheese31 - 16-11-2014 the cage goes threw the facia plate . . . . .rookie mistake, i made it once a long time ago . . ![]() RE: Fitting Headunit Surround? - JTaylor2005 - 16-11-2014 Dammit. Ahhhh nuts. I have bent all the little tabs on it now -_- gonna have to try bend them all back out and try again then by the sound of it haha. Will go try it now Well thats sorted it haha. I can't believe that I forgot thats how you did it. I had to do the same on my old corsa ages ago lol. Brain freeze or what haha. Cheers guys ![]() RE: Fitting Headunit Surround? - Connor - 16-11-2014 Yeah I was gonna say, you put the adaptor in the space, then put the cage through the adaptor and then the dash RE: Fitting Headunit Surround? - Mattcheese31 - 16-11-2014 (16-11-2014, 06:42 PM)Connor Wrote: Yeah I was gonna say, you put the adaptor in the space, then put the cage through the adaptor and then the dash narr you don't lol . . . .get it pushed/pulled through before then pop it in imo . . ![]() |
