RE: Ozonehostiles Blurple gti6. Jenveys and lsd imminent - ozonehostile - 05-07-2016 Going to need to have Friday off this week to get this finished Just spent ages getting it to idle properly, weird that it's playing up now as I haven't touched the inlet or any of the sensors. Main problem I've come across is the cambelt needs to be slackened slightly, just whining slightly annoyingly Still left to do : Find a 12v ignition live for the epas pump Slacken cambelt Sort some bolts for the strut brace Get the tracking done Put the dash back together Road test Fix whatever broke on the road test New wiper blades Clean 6 months of workshop grime off And anything else I've forgotten RE: Ozonehostiles Blurple gti6. Jenveys and lsd imminent - Stef205 - 05-07-2016 why do you need a ignition 12v for pas? the switch live comes off that alt RE: Ozonehostiles Blurple gti6. So far I've only been able to have it running constantly while the battery is connected lol RE: Ozonehostiles Blurple gti6. Jenveys and lsd imminent - Stef205 - 05-07-2016 yeah the terminal that feeds the dash light not the main terminal that goes to the battery. RE: Ozonehostiles Blurple gti6. Jenveys and lsd imminent - ozonehostile - 06-07-2016 Pas pump now sorted (thanks stef) Plus a few other small bits done, only major job left now is to check the cambelt tension then fingers crossed jobs a guddun! So many sockets and I'm sure a ratchet spanner too [emoji23] also probably a few wishbones and balljoints Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Ozonehostiles Blurple gti6. Jenveys and lsd imminent - ozonehostile - 07-07-2016 It's finally getting there! Pretty much everything finished tonight, just a few small things to do tomorrow then it's the big clean lol. Tonight: Fresh numberplates Hot idle sorted, basically added a new hose and separate filter for the idle air valve as it just wouldn't work breathing through the main filter. I didn't have anything that would fit inside the breather so my old man turned me up a stainless insert on the lathe. Perfect Strut brace fitted with correct bolts in the strut tops, I was intending to have it powdercoated before pugfest but ran out of time so it'll have to stay yellow for now. Small leak in the exhaust fixed, sounds much better now Tracking straightened ready to drive into town ready to have it done properly Cambelt tension corrected, lovely and quiet now (I bloody love the Xu10 cambelt cover, q Literally a ten minute job to tension the cambelt and put the cover back on) New wiper blades New wind deflectors Cooling fan override sorted Bolt check Fluid check Electrical check Big day tomorrow! RE: Ozonehostiles Blurple gti6. 99% pugfest ready - Piggy - 08-07-2016 Big kudos fella You must be buzzing! Currently sat waiting for the tracking to be done then it'll be pugfest ready bar a wash : The diff is certainly going to take some getting used to RE: Ozonehostiles Blurple gti6. 99% pugfest ready - ozonehostile - 11-07-2016 Pugfest 2016: Camping was awesome, people were awesome. Good times had all weekend. The car was pretty good considering how last minute it all was with changing the springs the morning I left etc Problems I had on the hill : The quickshift kept slipping making gear shifts pretty sloppy and I lost reverse a few times over the weekend Power steering I'm quite annoyed with, it was working alright on the way to Prescott but after my first two hill runs it was cutting in and out, usually on the hardest corners which was a bit exciting :p Got a few jobs to occupy me this week and then just enjoy the car for the rest of summer : Couple of my favourite pictures so far : RE: Ozonehostiles Blurple gti6. 99% pugfest ready - Matt-Rallye - 11-07-2016 That last picture is ace! car was performing well just needs ITB's and fine fettling Ozonehostiles Blurple gti6. 99% pugfest ready - P-Courty - 11-07-2016 I got a few pics will post them in the pugfest pic thread over the week [emoji106] RE: Ozonehostiles Blurple gti6. 99% pugfest ready - ozonehostile - 11-07-2016 (11-07-2016, 12:30 PM)Matt-Rallye Wrote: That last picture is ace! car was performing well just needs ITB's and fine fettling It's such a shame that it was playing up when you jumped in. Lots of testing needed in evenings after work I think (11-07-2016, 07:40 PM)P-Courty Wrote: I got a few pics will post them in the pugfest pic thread over the week [emoji106] Cheers buddy RE: Ozonehostiles Blurple gti6. 99% pugfest ready - ozonehostile - 12-07-2016 Few more pictures : RE: Ozonehostiles Blurple gti6. 99% pugfest ready - ozonehostile - 15-07-2016 Fixed the pugfest issues now (hopefully) Found out only 1 cooling fan was working so sorted that to get both slimlines going with the override mod. Aquired a 106 epas wiring loom off Matt, changed the relays and switch and my pas situation has got alot better. I think the issue was the relay I was using was suffering from overheating. Sorted the quickshift permanently (until I get a satchshift anyway) by running a bead of weld around the collars. Try bloody moving now! Didn't get much of a test drive on the way home as I was in a police car sandwich lol Ozonehostiles Blurple gti6. 99% pugfest ready - P-Courty - 17-07-2016 Few pics i got bud [emoji106] RE: Ozonehostiles Blurple gti6. 99% pugfest ready - ozonehostile - 20-07-2016 (17-07-2016, 09:31 PM)P-Courty Wrote: Few pics i got bud [emoji106] Nice one man, repped RE: Ozonehostiles Blurple gti6. 99% pugfest ready - DeeTurbo - 23-07-2016 Any idea on how much an EPAS pump weighs and the max current it draws under load? RE: Ozonehostiles Blurple gti6. 99% pugfest ready - Stef205 - 23-07-2016 ive got a 50amp in mine, blew a 40amp once RE: Ozonehostiles Blurple gti6. 99% pugfest ready - welshpug - 23-07-2016 standard fuse was 60amp iirc. RE: Ozonehostiles Blurple gti6. 99% pugfest ready - ozonehostile - 23-07-2016 I'd guesstimate it weighs around 4/5kg, seems quite heavy but when you see how much is removed from the standard setup it probably works out about the same once you remove all the piping, cooler loop, reservoir, tensioner and idler out of the aux belt loop plus the standard pump itself. I did have trouble with getting it to work until I replaced the relay with one off a 106, so pretty huge current draw RE: Ozonehostiles Blurple gti6. 99% pugfest ready - ozonehostile - 05-08-2016 Ordered yet another set of springs, gone for eibach 30mm this time as the front is still sat a tiny bit too low for my liking. I'm also on the look out for a new brake setup like a Renault sport 310mm or similar RE: Ozonehostiles Blurple gti6. 99% pugfest ready - Piggy - 05-08-2016 Is this still 99% Pugfest ready?...maybe for pugfest 2017 RE: Ozonehostiles Blurple gti6. 99% pugfest ready - ozonehostile - 06-08-2016 (05-08-2016, 11:24 PM)Piggy Wrote: Is this still 99% Pugfest ready?...maybe for pugfest 2017 Aha yeah in regards to fitting jenveys for next year it probably is |
