Re: WANTED: Stock Boost Hoses - Ruan - 07-02-2012 Seriously, think about what you just said. Re: WANTED: Stock Boost Hoses - padge - 07-02-2012 arent the stock ones 2"? Re: WANTED: Stock Boost Hoses - Diggers - 07-02-2012 padge Wrote:arent the stock ones 2"?1 and 3/4" afaik Sent from my HTC Wildfire using Tapatalk WANTED: Stock Boost Hoses - Jonny b - 07-02-2012 Won't it collapse a long peice of silicone though!! Re: WANTED: Stock Boost Hoses - darrenjlobb - 07-02-2012 stock pipes are fine...no smaller than the outlet on the compressor of most turbos you are running.... Re: WANTED: Stock Boost Hoses - padge - 07-02-2012 whats ruan on about then? Re: WANTED: Stock Boost Hoses - Ruan - 07-02-2012 It can't be restrictive, it's on the compressed side, if it was going SMALLER than the outlet of the turbocharger, then it could be restrictive, but it's not... Bigger =/= Better. The reason Ruan is having issues is nothing to do with it not being big enough, its just because his VNT sits at a funny angle, meaning the stock boost pipe dosnt fit correctly and is always sat at an angle, and over time of it compresses / expanding etc, it splits.... The air is compressed anyway... A GT35 uses the same 2" outlet off the turbo, if the outlet side was restrictive, don't you think it'd be a 3"+... dropping to 1 3/4" isn't going to restrict it at all on a pissy T2 or even a T25... If anything it's more area to fill at 2" all the way through, therefore more lag... Inlet side is a different matter entirely, but post compressor it makes no difference. People have made 200+hp on that hose, I'm really not going to worry. |
