RE: New 306 Owner - puglove - 12-02-2013 1.4/1.6's Eat gear box's for a pass time, Im pretty sure you will be replacing that pretty soon, But yeah be prepared as it will go at some point, some on here have been know to change a gear box more than once on a 1.4 RE: New 306 Owner - alice - 12-02-2013 (12-02-2013, 07:04 PM)puglove Wrote: 1.4/1.6's Eat gear box's for a pass time, Im pretty sure you will be replacing that pretty soon, yea, kinda worried about that but will just have to see how it goes. RE: New 306 Owner - Piggy - 12-02-2013 quick check of scrappys before weekend to grab a box...save doing it twice?! I did 2 of the damn things on my old China. Just get it done mate, if only for peace of mind. RE: New 306 Owner - alice - 12-02-2013 How much is a new gearbox? ![]() RE: New 306 Owner - Piggy - 12-02-2013 I wouldnt buy a new one, as said, go down scrappys and see if you can find a low millage box... money spent now saves on future breakdown and more money/time to fit another...a tooth is not a good sign... if your tooth fell out, would you wait till more fell out before going to the dentist to sort it! ![]() love the car, it will love you back RE: New 306 Owner - kingy - 12-02-2013 my gear box (1.6) has done 95000 and ive never dropped the oil and never had any problems at all. welcome along by the way mate. I got my Luk clutch for £68 online from Buy parts by, and got a new timing belt and brake pads as well. You should change it, makes all the difference to the drive! |
