RE: Sam rallye based track project !! now 4 potted :) - 7057sam - 25-05-2013 Ok well day 1 was so mad with bits not fitting, not right parts in oil cooler was a right piss about.so we staeted with the oil cooler decided to go with a 16 row cooler as I have heard 13's aren't up to it. So got the kit unpacked pipes where miles to long can't cut them because of the stupid ends so had to get the cable tires out ![]() It was also a bloody good job I didn't have a gti6 twin fan setup or we would of been completely f*cked.we out out the second fan suround and mount it they.also replace the oil filter at the same time. ![]() Sitting just to the side of the number plate ![]() Engine looking very sorry for itself, no battery either ![]() ![]() So we relocated the battery behind passengers seat ![]() Rocker covers on and fc coil pack also sanded back cylinder head and autosoled it ![]() Sam's rallye based track project ! engine revealed ! - Jonny b - 25-05-2013 Looks good chap! With regards to moving the battery did you just extend from or did you do all the live and earth points in the bay? RE: Sam's rallye based track project ! engine revealed ! - 7057sam - 25-05-2013 (25-05-2013, 02:06 PM)Jonny b Wrote: Looks good chap! With regards to moving the battery did you just extend from or did you do all the live and earth points in the bay? Cheers johhy I got some earths with the swampy kit I link on to a bolt on the battery box plate and we ran one (not the earth) into the fuse box.i can get pictures for you if you want my main problem was we had was we had no terminals at my mate garage so had to burn one of a old cable. RE: Sam's rallye based track project ! engine revealed ! - 7057sam - 25-05-2013 So got the cover on and manifold and re worked the induction kit with lots of cable tires ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Got to paint the side of the block at the weekend and slam panel. Day 2 BRAKES !!! ![]() They clear...just.bloody close mind ![]() ![]() ![]() Then lowered the back and replaced broken shocks the ta ones are literally haf the size of the oe ones so no more bumpy ride. After it settled ![]() ![]() Then we started on the seats pig of a job.side mounts did nt fit so had to basically cut new holes and de drilled the base mounts quite cleverly so base mounted seats still fit ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Getting chuffed with them so comfortable, love long journeys now ![]() RE: Sam's rallye based track project ! engine revealed ! - Eeyore - 25-05-2013 yesss!
