Re: Stage 3 XUD project - studturbo - 04-02-2012

Re: Stage 3 XUD project - darrenjlobb - 04-02-2012

Heh oh dear,

Your gov is stock.....how on earth have you been "having fun" driving that lol...must be a total nightmare.... Get that gov shimmed up and it will make it a dream to drive, and probs give you roughly 175-180hp imo....

That things barely getting on blow and its hitting the fuel cut....

Re: Stage 3 XUD project - studturbo - 04-02-2012

Get it gov modded padge it makes a really bit diffrence alot better drive glad mines already done for when my TD04 goes on Big Grin

Re: Stage 3 XUD project - padge - 04-02-2012

I know darren, it's still nippy tbh, and can shift, but it just holds back so bad.

Re: Stage 3 XUD project - 4WayDiablo - 04-02-2012

Didn't realise you were on the stock gov! lol Get it sorted and try again!

Re: Stage 3 XUD project - darrenjlobb - 05-02-2012

Have you pressure tested your FMIC system fella?

Im not saying your wrong, but I wouldn't be surprised if that dyno guy is correct in thinking theres a boost leak somewhere, as that noise doesn't sound like a de filtered t25 at all...all the t25's ive put on have been de filtered, and sound nothing like that...its making the typical hissing boost noise....

What I do is take the pipe off the turbo, or as close to it as you can, bung the end (jublee pipe down on a handle or something), then use air line into the compensator line, and pressurize the system up to 30psi, and listen for leaks, Id put money on that thing not even holding pressure by the time you let go of the trigger by the sounds of it....

Re: Stage 3 XUD project - Jenkosowls - 05-02-2012

come on padge update this will you

Re: Stage 3 XUD project - Dan! - 05-02-2012

Fucker didnt even text me back, come on Padge! Tongue

Re: Stage 3 XUD project - padge - 05-02-2012

Darren i've been meaning to check the inlet is tight for a week or 2 but never tried it, the t-peice and hose for boost gauge, need clamping properly, the boost gauge hose on the T-peice has no clamp at all, and the t-peice connection inbetween the boost comp hose could do with being a bigger diameter, the noise so9unds exactly the same as my mate running defilter T25, he put a filter on 3 days ago and its made his silent, but the noise was identical!..

Anyway, today we cleaned the underseat filter out as it was gunked up, and this made no difference, so then went to jenks place, to find out it's a totally stock gov, so shimmed that about 6-7mm i think it was? a nut and a washer anyway, and it does feel like its pulling a bit harder and for slightly longer, so we can narrow out the gov mod, and underseat filter, going to change the one under the bonnet and check the inlet mani is tight.

Re: Stage 3 XUD project - Ruan - 05-02-2012

May be teaching you to suck eggs, when did you last change the fuel filter...

Or have you checked it's not blocked...

Re: Stage 3 XUD project - Jenkosowls - 05-02-2012

hmmmm doesnt sound like a very dramatic increase then? also padge forgot to mention that the throttle arm was touching the engine mount. as the idle cushion extention arm was still on the throttle arm

Re: Stage 3 XUD project - padge - 05-02-2012

Thats what i've just said ruan Smile

Stage 3 XUD project - padge - 05-02-2012

For the past 2 days been trying to get the idle right after messing with it, ticks over nice when cold the raises to just under 1k when warm?? Arghh

Re: Stage 3 XUD project - darrenjlobb - 05-02-2012

When the glow plugs go off the alternator load goes away, hence idle goes up... Always set it when its warm.

Stage 3 XUD project - padge - 05-02-2012

Right ill see how that goes tommorow

Re: Stage 3 XUD project - 4WayDiablo - 05-02-2012

Good luck! Always wanting this to make some good power!

Stage 3 XUD project - padge - 05-02-2012

Its a shame tbh, so much potential locked up somewhere, it made good power at no revs tbh!

Re: Stage 3 XUD project - 4WayDiablo - 05-02-2012

Yeah true. Might be a good idea checking for leaks. Quite a noise. Go better with the gov mod today?

Stage 3 XUD project - padge - 05-02-2012

Yeah id say it does, going to check for leaks etc

Re: Stage 3 XUD project - 4WayDiablo - 05-02-2012

Sweet then you can get it back on the rollers :-)

Stage 3 XUD project - padge - 05-02-2012

Thats the plan lol

Re: Stage 3 XUD project - Atterz - 05-02-2012

Its ran out of derv 6 times? Youve probably nakkered the vane pump then, diesels dont like being run dry.
