i just spoke to the garage that i dropped it off at to see if they had any idea and they said they didnt and didnt want to mess about with it.

so the hours labour they did for me yesterday im not going to be charged for as they know im in a pickle!

If they do try to charge you tell them to f*ck off since they looked at it and said that there wasn't a problem and that everything was correct...................clearly they didn't have a clue!

and ideas?

Re: Bosch Conversion help. go to last post. It wont start! = - Connor - 24-04-2012

You plumbed everything back in yeah? TMIC, boost compensator etc.

lol yes it seems very unresponsive though

it also is not the easiest to start

i think every thing is plumbed in correctly with all new jubilee clips

You tuned up the pump properly? Wound the max fuel screw in etc.

i havnt touched any of the tuning yet. it was like it wasnt coming on boost properly. i havnt got my boost guage on to see what psi im running.

So, it is running, the car is driving from A - B??

It's just a lumpy engine now?

That LDA screw looked a bit iffy to me, but im assuming someone lost the old screw..
What's your fuel screw looking like?

Re: Bosch Conversion help. go to last post. It has no oomph - Ben Jay - 24-04-2012

I havnt looked at any of the internals but I will tomorrow when I get back from work

Re: Bosch Conversion help. go to last post. It has no oomph - Ben Jay - 24-04-2012

So what could it be?

Re: Bosch Conversion help. go to last post. It has no oomph - Toby - 24-04-2012

Ben Jay Wrote:So what could it be?

It could be just poorly set up? Sort out the max fuel and LDA screws and see what happens? Smile

Re: Bosch Conversion help. go to last post. It has no oomph - mark_airey - 24-04-2012

You need to set up the max fuel on the pump that will be why it feels flat, get your 13mm spanner out, slacken the lock nut and screw it in by hand until the revs start to rise and if its hard to start I would say that it possibly needs advancing a little bit Smile where is the pump sat on the mounting slots?

Re: Bosch Conversion help. go to last post. It has no oomph - ginge191 - 24-04-2012

adjusting the max fuel requires no internal work, just loosen the nut off, screw with your fingers, get the rev's higher, give it a rev (check for smoke) i run mine with a light dusting off half throttle, that seems a nice level, tighten the nut back up, and adjust the idle back to normal...

Re: Bosch Conversion help. go to last post. It has no oomph - Ben Jay - 24-04-2012

What we are thinking is that it's getting way to much fuel which means its bogging down due to this. An I right?

Ben Jay Wrote:What we are thinking is that it's getting way to much fuel which means its bogging down due to this. An I right?

Sounds more like too little fuel?

Re: Bosch Conversion help. go to last post. It has no oomph - ginge191 - 24-04-2012

Little fuel mate - you'd have little chance of bogging down imo.

Did you prime the fuel through, as well as 'overflowing' injector return lines?

I'm no expert on these as you may know, but seems as if an air block - basically, little fuel getting through..

Re: Bosch Conversion help. go to last post. It has no oomph - mark_airey - 24-04-2012

It wouldn't air lock I wouldn't think, too little fuel, and again, as per my last post, how advanced is the pump in the slots on the mounting points?? because if its running retarded it will be a bastard to start and really flat to drive!

Re: Bosch Conversion help. go to last post. It has no oomph - 4WayDiablo - 24-04-2012

If it was too much fuel to bog it would smoke like a mutha. You would know about it haha. But in the turbos range it would go well

So if its just stupidly slow then too little fuel

Re: Bosch Conversion help. go to last post. It has no oomph - Ben Jay - 24-04-2012

It was smoking like a train when we were running it that's why I think to much fuel

Re: Bosch Conversion help. go to last post. It has no oomph - mark_airey - 24-04-2012

**facepalm** did you not think to mention this?? if you did and I forgot I'm sorry, this has been going on for a while lol

What colour is the smoke? is it black?? or grey?

how advanced is the pump? as this could be your starting problem and smoke cause!

Re: Bosch Conversion help. go to last post. It has no oomph - Dan! - 24-04-2012

White/light grey smoke?

Il bet its running to retarded like Mark said. When they are too retarded they literally just pour out white smoke at idle...

lmao being as pedantic as I can be at times I can't really argue with that Tongue

Re: Bosch Conversion help. go to last post. It has no oomph - Ben Jay - 24-04-2012

So too retarded could make it run flat?

Re: Bosch Conversion help. go to last post. It has no oomph - ginge191 - 24-04-2012

Mark - what do you mean by running too "advanced" ??

Re: Bosch Conversion help. go to last post. It has no oomph - Dave - 24-04-2012

You need to get a video of this... you provide so little information on your setup, get a video of your engine bay, how it drives, idles, revs, and show your fuel lines and throttle response, and smoke when you rev it. Its just a total guessing game saying it wont rev................. could be so many reasons, of which we could sit here guessing them all.
