Re: 205 Dturbo XUD T2, Gov'd LDA ground big turbo on its way - strictly_perv - 26-05-2012

Yeah had so many problem with it leaking. This one seems to have a much better flow design. Have one more little mod to do with the fuel lines though Wink

Re: 205 Dturbo XUD T2, Gov'd LDA ground big turbo on its way - Ruan - 30-05-2012

This car is porn.

Can't wait to see it with the big turbo...

Re: 205 Dturbo XUD T2, Gov'd LDA ground big turbo on its way - strictly_perv - 02-06-2012

Cheers Ruan Smile

just got back from a 205 mini meet. Convoyed up with a 1.9 GTI and a 2.0 Turbo, had a play with the turbo and they where pretty much the same ninja they're 150bhp standard and his has no cat, free flow exhaust, FMIC and green cotton filter. Surely must meen mines running 140bhp+? The 1.9 GTI wasn't any competition haha

Re: 205 Dturbo XUD T2, Gov'd LDA ground big turbo on its way - Dum-Dum - 02-06-2012

The torque of yours compared to the pertol will make it feel faster than the actual headline BHP figure makes your head think it is.

Love this car BTW.

Re: 205 Dturbo XUD T2, Gov'd LDA ground big turbo on its way - puglove - 02-06-2012

love this car so much. would let my daily DT go in a heart beat for a 205 DT its just so hard to find a good one as a start point

Re: 205 Dturbo XUD T2, Gov'd LDA ground big turbo on its way - strictly_perv - 02-06-2012

True, the torque is pretty mental with a light car and close ratio box combo. Pretty pleased with it's performance for what is essentially a 20 y.o diesel 205.

Re: 205 Dturbo XUD, Gov'd LDA ground K04-020 turbo fitted - strictly_perv - 13-06-2012

This threads long over due an update. So for those who havn't been watching my other thread, I've finally fitted that K04! Turned up the fueling a tad today to it's now boosting around 30psi and really does seem to shift, temp stays lower than it did with the T2 for some reason... can't imagine what it would be like with an 11mm :O

Can't wait to meet a tailgater in a german saloon ninja

Re: 205 Dturbo XUD, Gov'd LDA ground K04-020 turbo fitted - strictly_perv - 13-06-2012

Also for those going to FCS she'll be sat on the front row of our stand

Re: 205 Dturbo XUD, Gov'd LDA ground K04-020 turbo fitted - procta - 13-06-2012

max i will have to pop down to you sometime so we could do a retro photo shoot,

RE: 205 Dturbo XUD, Gov'd LDA ground K04-020 turbo fitted - strictly_perv - 21-06-2012

Yes Procta. Would love to see the Metro and 205 together.

For those who havn't seen it elsewhere, here's a vid on the 205 in action on a rolling road with the new turbo.

the clutch gave out but it still made 168bhp

RE: 205 Dturbo XUD, Gov'd LDA ground K04-020 turbo fitted - 4WayDiablo - 21-06-2012

Sounds like the operator has no clue Undecided

RE: 205 Dturbo XUD, Gov'd LDA ground K04-020 turbo fitted - Ricky - 22-06-2012

I think you were pretty brave going on that dyno with no fans.

This car is epic though, you were in front of me for the parade lap, remember you coming past me wheelspinning! You have inspired me to go big turbo now..

How high do you rev it with the K04? Up to 6k?

RE: 205 Dturbo XUD, Gov'd LDA ground K04-020 turbo fitted - strictly_perv - 22-06-2012

I only rev it to 5k as the gov-mod still restricts stlight past it but it will go to 5750. I don't think I could ever go back to a standard turbo now...get it done Ricky!

I will be very soon! Just hoping it's not too much more work than making adaptor plates.. Wont be running 30psi though, at least not until I have a spare engine in storage!

RE: 205 Dturbo XUD, Gov'd LDA ground K04-020 turbo fitted - strictly_perv - 22-06-2012

What turbo will you go for? I'd recommend a k04, drivabilitly's barely affected you only reason notice it going up hills in 4/5th and it wont spool quite as quick as a standard item. But there's a slim chance you'll get one as cheap as a td04, t25 ect as people snap them up for the VAG cars.

RE: 205 Dturbo XUD, Gov'd LDA ground K04-020 turbo fitted - Ricky - 22-06-2012

I will be going for td04, purely because I can afford it. The K04's are fetching good money still.

RE: 205 Dturbo XUD, Gov'd LDA ground K04-020 turbo fitted - strictly_perv - 23-06-2012

Yeah I could have sold this one for a lot more than I paid by fancied giving it a try. I've found it will actually build boost from just over tick over but full boost around 3,400. If you need a hand feel free to give me a shout.

RE: 205 Dturbo XUD, Gov'd LDA ground K04-020 turbo fitted - Jenkosowls - 23-06-2012

Hang on you take yours past 5k? The t25 seems to be quit laggy boosting quite late really then run out of revs! But could be due to the 9mm not supplying enough lower down. Plus i like a near smokeless tune as possible

RE: 205 Dturbo XUD, Gov'd LDA ground K04-020 turbo fitted - strictly_perv - 24-06-2012

No I don't as the govener still starts cutting in after 5 so it needs more adjusting. I have done to see though.
All my pumps had done is a gov-mod, ground pin, re-adjusted throttle for max leverage. It's still got more to go on the fel screw so I do think I could get 200bhp from this pump with a few more mods.

RE: 205 Dturbo XUD 168bhp with clutch slip. - strictly_perv - 24-06-2012

So I've covered about 700miles with this turbo and have only just realised the inlet fanimold was missing 2 bolts, we got distracted by the exhaust and had forgotten about them Itwasntme. They'r back on now. Must have caused a leak as the test drive resulted in epic clutch slip.

So I've wound out the fuel screw and disconnected the LDA so she's boosting around 22psi and that has cured the slip for now. Still shifts and is bloody clean building boost up so atleast it's still fun to drive.
C.G paddle clutch will be ordered when I get paid.

Also will be getting a much needed OMP roll cage Big Grin

RE: 205 Dturbo XUD 168bhp with clutch slip. - Midnightclub - 25-06-2012

Epic little car mate Smile

RE: 205 Dturbo XUD 168bhp with clutch slip. - strictly_perv - 28-06-2012

Un-sprung track spec paddle clutch ordered ninja

RE: 205 Dturbo XUD 168bhp with clutch slip. - procta - 28-06-2012

good stuff max!! i cannot push for more power with the kseries engine. as its not worth it for what you gain for your money.

RE: 205 Dturbo XUD 168bhp with clutch slip. - strictly_perv - 05-07-2012

Right so after the little 'incident' I've started taking the front end, gear box, clutch off while it's off the road. The clutch got delayed after a them realizing the clutch was meant for a 306 not a 205 I had to explain to them again it's going in a 205. They do seem a very helpful company though.
Here's some pics of the car looking a very sad state-

Managed to remove the box on my own in the pissing down rain in under 2 hours. Ended up getting a stick across the engine bay with some rope tied to the box and winched it down a few inches at a time down onto a axle stand to avoid it dropping onto stuff.

RE: 205 Dturbo XUD 168bhp with clutch slip. - ginge191 - 05-07-2012

top job with the gearbox mate! will be awesome once this is all back together! be there in no time!!

RE: 205 Dturbo XUD 168bhp with clutch slip. - cjm_harris - 05-07-2012

Awesome little car!

I want a 205 really badly at the minute. Hoping to replace my slow as shit 306 1.9 non turbo diesel and buy a 205 to use daily. Would love to have something like this!

RE: 205 Dturbo XUD 168bhp with clutch slip. - Jenkosowls - 05-07-2012

seems plenty of meat on the clutch just very glazed from slipping! cheap clutch? least the damage aint bad!

RE: 205 Dturbo XUD 168bhp with clutch slip. - Pugmarshall - 06-07-2012

I envy this car so much, it's the ultimate 205 for me!

RE: 205 Dturbo XUD 168bhp with clutch slip. - strictly_perv - 06-07-2012

Yes Jenk, had a year or 2 life left at standard power I reckon but the turbo just raped it. It's got Valeo stamped on it.
Appreaciate the positive comments really needing the motivation to get this done along with the body parts and severe lack of time and dry weather. I am really missing not being able to drive it and it's not even been a week off the road. My brothers stage 1 306 isn't quite doing it for me hah

RE: 205 Dturbo XUD 168bhp with clutch slip. - mark_airey - 07-07-2012

get yourself a cheap gazebo to work under then you can crack on no matter what the weather is doing if you have no garage to work in, it will be better than nothing!.........loving the new avatar image too mate Wink
