RE: Ell Diablo - Hydraulic Clutch In - Grant - 11-04-2014 So another good, productive day today, with great weather ![]() Wrap and reverse cable turned up in the post, got the manifold wrapped. Its enough to test the patience of the best of us.... ![]() Also put a lick of paint on the wiper arms and scuttle panel. Freshens it up nicely: ![]() And also bought and old shitter of a china '6. Got it cheap as the previous owner didn't have a clue and tried modding it themselves, and ruined it. ![]() Ell Diablo - Hydraulic Clutch In - devils_fuel - 11-04-2014 (11-04-2014, 06:34 PM)Grant Wrote: And also bought and old shitter of a china '6. I plan on using different running gear to that of the scooby as well, so mounting the engine in a standard 306 bay won't be too much of an issue. I'm not looking for AWD front engined. It's been done a fair few times before. RWD front engined however .... ![]() RE: Ell Diablo - Hydraulic Clutch In - Grant - 13-04-2014 Update: So yesterday Myself and Niall set about dropping the new engine in. This was abruptly stopped, as the ECU set I had for the engine, had a PH3 BSI, and mine was a PH2, meaning different plugs, so that plan had to be stopped ![]() We then took the power steering unions to Pirtek, to have a pipe made up, for the EPAS setup. The chap at Pirtek braised the wrong end of the pipe on, meaning that didn't fit. So no power steering for me. So we tried to get the AUX belt back on, but without a P/S pump as a pulley, this proved impossible to route and tension, so I now have nothing charging my batteries. All in all, a shit day ![]() So to spend today trying to rectify the above, and get a working car again. f*cking thing ![]() RE: Ell Diablo - Hydraulic Clutch In - Pompey306mark - 13-04-2014 Bad day. Better luck for today. RE: Ell Diablo - Hydraulic Clutch In - Tom - 13-04-2014 Hope you get on well today ![]() RE: Ell Diablo - Hydraulic Clutch In - C.A.R. - 13-04-2014 Looks good though! At least that's something. I'd be tempted to get some matt black vinyl and have a go at doing the rub strips and front and rear bumpers in matt black (much like a phase 1) so it all ties-in with the wheel arch extensions and bonnet... RE: Ell Diablo - Hydraulic Clutch In - Grant - 13-04-2014 So managed to find a way of tensioning the belt. Using a cam belt tensioner ![]() Belt I bought today was the wrong length though, so got to try again tomorrow. Third time lucky and all that! (13-04-2014, 02:25 PM)C.A.R. Wrote: Looks good though! At least that's something. I've been toying with the idea, or alternatively colour coding the arches, but i think the latter may look a bit wank.... RE: Ell Diablo - Hydraulic Clutch In - Grant - 14-04-2014 So.... Finally managed to get my battery charging again. 4th belt lucky. Used a camblet tensioner in the end to get it going ![]() Pretty much the same as this (shamelessly nicked from Dum-Dum's old HDI project) Yes that's a 6PK698 ![]() ![]() And fitted my black harnesses that I swapped with Matt for my Red ones haha. Beautifully modelled by Kola: ![]() Then the plan is to get the power steering up and running on Thursday. Fingers crossed RE: Ell Diablo - Hydraulic Clutch In - Eeyore - 14-04-2014 Amazing seats. ![]() Re: RE: Ell Diablo - Hydraulic Clutch In - kentiiboii - 14-04-2014 (14-04-2014, 08:45 PM)SRowell Wrote: Amazing seats. I'll be putting mine in tomorrow now ![]() RE: Ell Diablo - Hydraulic Clutch In - Grant - 16-04-2014 Update I have working power steering. That is all RE: Ell Diablo - Hydraulic Clutch In - Grant - 01-05-2014 So it's gone a bit quiet in here lately, due to the fact that I am re-doing the driveway at home. Bit of a mammoth, had to take 2 weeks off work to get it done. Im off 'till tuesday to try and coplete it ![]() How it looked easter friday: ![]() Brickwork and fence going up: ![]() 13"pier to support roller garage door: ![]() Starting to edge up for the paving: ![]() Fence boarded up: ![]() It goes all down the side and round the back of the house, so here is how the back is standing ATM: ![]() Bit more edging done ![]() Paving going down: ![]() Cut in the edges ![]() ![]() ![]() Just gotta tackle the brickwork on the front wall today. Rain isn't helping that though ![]() ![]() Still to do: Pave down side and rear of house Bed in manhole cover in back garden Cut in all paving Pave other side of house Wire in lights Finish brickwork Level and turf law area All the pointing in 4 days. Woo-f*cking-hooo And now i have nowhere to work on my car due to the fear of messing up the new paving ![]() ![]() RE: Ell Diablo - Hydraulic Clutch In - mcvite - 01-05-2014 Looking very nice mate, well done ![]() RE: Ell Diablo - Hydraulic Clutch In - floz123 - 01-05-2014 Not bad for a pikey ![]() RE: Ell Diablo - Hydraulic Clutch In - mr_fish - 01-05-2014 tidy job that, mind the oil spills though from the odd french machine. RE: Ell Diablo - Hydraulic Clutch In - Dum-Dum - 01-05-2014 Good effort, I take it the paving is down on more than earth and sand? RE: Ell Diablo - Hydraulic Clutch In - Matt - 01-05-2014 I hope you installed a ninja pit in that driveway, and it's just concealed by a trap door ![]() RE: Ell Diablo - Hydraulic Clutch In - Grant - 01-05-2014 (01-05-2014, 07:54 PM)Dum-Dum Wrote: Good effort, I take it the paving is down on more than earth and sand? RE: Ell Diablo - Hydraulic Clutch In - 7057sam - 02-05-2014 Looking great grant ![]() I d 2 years at college to become a qualified bricklayer.mainly did garden walls and abit of site work before the resestion hit ![]() The front will be a doddle now all you have to do is run a line and lay to that ![]() RE: Ell Diablo - Hydraulic Clutch In - Connor - 02-05-2014 Wanna come and make me a driveway? ![]() Totally serious, come make me a driveway RE: Ell Diablo - Hydraulic Clutch In - Dum-Dum - 04-05-2014 (01-05-2014, 08:14 PM)Grant Wrote:(01-05-2014, 07:54 PM)Dum-Dum Wrote: Good effort, I take it the paving is down on more than earth and sand? Your the landscaper/pikey/builder, you should know. But all the ones I've seen that are just on hard packed dirt just sink and the smaller the stones the worse it is. Even stuff that only gets foot use gets uneven within a few years. I've seen pikey block paved driveways collapse under the weight of cars within a few weeks. RE: Ell Diablo - Hydraulic Clutch In - Grant - 04-05-2014 I was joking mate ![]() Theres 4 inches of type 1 crushed concrete, 3 inches of MOT scalpings, and 2 inches of concrete, then the sand and block. Overkill, but meh. RE: Ell Diablo - Hydraulic Clutch In - Dum-Dum - 04-05-2014 TBH overkill on driveways is the way forward as redoing a sub standard job especially where there is some concrete involved is a mammoth job. The driveway at my parents old house I helped do and there's about 6 inches of reinforced concrete on top of MOT. Overkill for a driveway but itll never need re doing RE: Ell Diablo - Hydraulic Clutch In - Grant - 04-05-2014 Exactly. The old driveway was about 10-12 inches of sold concrete. It was solid, just looked shite. That was a bastard to get up, and took about 2 grab loads to take away. My grans driveway has 14 inches of reinforced concrete under it, and had a camper van parked on it for 12 years, and not to mention the 5 or so cars I have stored on it. Not moved an inch. RE: Ell Diablo - Hydraulic Clutch In - Grant - 11-05-2014 So not much of an update. Had a pretty epic day in the new forest today for pugfest. Didn't clean the car as CBA, but pompeymark managed to get some decent pics none-the-less ![]() ![]() And also picked up these for convoying. Makes it easier than keep ringing people. ![]() Ell Diablo - Hydraulic Clutch In - devils_fuel - 13-05-2014 (11-05-2014, 08:51 PM)Grant Wrote: Like this picture mate ![]() How's the hydraulic clutch, it's std in the 407 but didn't feel like the same bite point all the time..is that me not used to it yet or..? |
