RE: Ell Diablo - V8 Engine?? - Grant - 02-01-2014

I completely agree.

I'm not going for outright speed. If I wanted a super fast car I wouldn't be driving a 306 lol

It's about not following the norm of slapping a supercharger into a J4RS engine and doing something out of the ordinary in a garage at home Smile

Plus, that sound! Who would grumble at that!

RE: Ell Diablo - V8 Engine?? - Rippthrough - 02-01-2014

You wouldn't even need a charger to be faster than Rover power Big Grin

HERE you go, much more fun.

RE: Ell Diablo - V8 Engine?? - Grant - 06-01-2014

Now that is very interesting! I guess with standalone management it wouldn't be too much of a ball ache to get running either!

RE: Ell Diablo - MOT Booked! - Grant - 06-01-2014

As the thread title, booked MOT today.

09:10 this coming Saturday, so anybody who fancies pissing themselves laughing, stay tuned here saturday lmao

I reckon (touch wood) the only thing it will fail on is the fuelling. Everything else is sound as I have kept on top of it. Fingers crossed!

RE: Ell Diablo - MOT Booked! - Dum-Dum - 07-01-2014

cant fail on what it don't have lol

RE: Ell Diablo - MOT Booked! - Grant - 07-01-2014

So sorted a bit of rust today, what with the MOT this saturday. Seemed a good idea...

This is how it looked. Under the PAS reservoir.

Cut out. Ground back and 'cleaned up'. Neat eh? lmao

And welded up. Believe it or not, it was infact not Hellen Keller who welded this....

Just gotta sort my chronic water leak from the roof now. Seats are constantly soaked. Fooking car lol

RE: Ell Diablo - MOT Booked! - Matt - 07-01-2014

One thing after another eh! Haha welding looks interesting Wink

RE: Ell Diablo - MOT Booked! - Grant - 07-01-2014

Leave it alone. I smashed it with a hammer and it didn't budge lol

RE: Ell Diablo - MOT Booked! - Carlos182 - 07-01-2014

Could've got the colour match better than that! :p

RE: Ell Diablo - MOT Booked! - Grant - 07-01-2014

Both are diablo. One is just 15 year old, messy, covered in crap, diablo. The other is new diablo. Give it a few miles :p

RE: Ell Diablo - MOT Booked! - Dum-Dum - 08-01-2014

Bang on what I said then Wink

RE: Ell Diablo - MOT Booked! - Grant - 10-01-2014

So had a productive day today. Managed to:

- Roll my rear arches to stop the scrubbing from the 20mm spacers.
- Fit my wink mirror (xmas present from Niall. Cheers babe)
- Change the leaky radiator bottom o-ring
- Fit my EPAS bracket

Wink mirror fitted. It is just epic. No more blind spots Big Grin
[Image: DSC_0486_zps5fd97dac.jpg]

Chosen location for the EPAS bracket
[Image: image_zps6a77cb72.jpg]

Mount welded in
[Image: image_zpsa9797422.jpg]

Bracket offered up
[Image: image_zpsd31f0fbd.jpg]

Lower mount welded in place
[Image: image_zpsd009f10e.jpg]

Primered up
[Image: image_zps567b90d3.jpg]

Left it there for the time being. Need to grind back and krust a bit of rust. Then paint up the mounting points for the EPAS pump and lacquer.

Think I'm gonna need a custom PAS pipe made up to get over there, but no biggie.

RE: Ell Diablo - MOT Booked! - Eeyore - 10-01-2014

looks good. we are going to have to do this to mine as well!

RE: Ell Diablo - MOT Booked! - Carlos182 - 10-01-2014

Love the ear plugs hanging up!

RE: Ell Diablo - MOT Booked! - Niall - 10-01-2014

Will the pump fit back in the bracket with it being that close to the arch?

If not, BFO hammer!

RE: Ell Diablo - MOT Booked! - Grant - 10-01-2014

I need to cut the bit off the bracket (the welded on silver bit) that hangs down. Then it will fit nicely, with the filler next pointing towards the drivers side.

RE: Ell Diablo - MOT Booked! - Grant - 11-01-2014

Just leaving for the MOT now.

This could be comical

Popcorn

RE: Ell Diablo - MOT Booked! - Carlos182 - 11-01-2014

Good luck buddy!

RE: Ell Diablo - MOT Booked! - Grant - 11-01-2014

So it failed Sad

On an indicator bulb. Retested and it got advisories for no airbags and for being stripped out

Genuinely shocked lol

RE: Ell Diablo - MOT Booked! - Midnightclub - 11-01-2014

RE: Ell Diablo - MOT Booked! - Carlos182 - 11-01-2014

So what you're saying is that it got advisories for being win?

RE: Ell Diablo - MOT Booked! - Grant - 11-01-2014

RE: Ell Diablo - MOT Passed - Grant - 12-01-2014

So got handy with the welder again today. Added some cable securing clips and moaning lugs for the radiator (it's gotta be really obvious what this is now)

Slapped the first can of paint I had to hand on it to stop it rusting up something rotten. Hence it looks patchwork.

RE: Ell Diablo - MOT Booked! - Grant - 16-01-2014

Aaaand got busy with the welder again today Smile

It's amazing the difference it makes to the engine movement. Thoroughly recommend it!

RE: Ell Diablo - MOT Passed! - Matt - 16-01-2014
