RE: Hashtag YOLO ph1 sigma GTI-6 - Moonwalker - 31-03-2015 Best of luck with the re build bud, you've got a really nice car there, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it when it's finished. RE: Hashtag YOLO ph1 sigma GTI-6 - ezb - 01-04-2015 Yeah, when its finally sorted...looks like its been maintained by a pair of blind Labradors up until now RE: Hashtag YOLO ph1 sigma GTI-6 - Moonwalker - 01-04-2015 (01-04-2015, 10:38 AM)ezb Wrote: Yeah, when its finally sorted...looks like its been maintained by a pair of blind Labradors up until now You'll get there though! You seem like you want everything spot on, there's not a lot of your cars left around, you've got a very rare car there, that will stand out from the rest when you get it finished. RE: Hashtag YOLO ph1 sigma GTI-6 - anto - 02-04-2015 The BMW I bought was the same, maintained (if you could call it that) by a complete muppet. They had bent and stripped the threads on the sump plug They had just gasket sealed the cracked thermostat housing They had prised off the led airbag light from the instrument cluster (to keep the light out) No antifreeze in the water....Antifreeze in the cooling system is how I found the cracked thermo housing They had destroyed the brake disc retaining screws so they didn't actually retain the dis All of the problems bar the antifreeze is something you just cant check on a test drive. But I am eventually sorting the problems and getting the car how I want it. Keep perservering ezb, itl be worth it in the long run. RE: Hashtag YOLO ph1 sigma GTI-6 - ezb - 07-04-2015 ![]() Bank holiday Monday...took the head off again...take two..no obvious damage to the head, can only assume its something the company who rebuilt it have done, wasn't tapping before hand RE: Hashtag YOLO ph1 sigma GTI-6 - ezb - 09-04-2015 reply from the people who are doing the head work today, Valve guides on Cylinder 3 were the issue, sorting them out free of charge...bit of good news(ish) for the first time RE: Hashtag YOLO ph1 sigma GTI-6 - ezb - 13-04-2015 ![]() ![]() K&N filter and scorpion exhaust on, after a decent decat if anyone passing has or knows or one Head has arrived back, replaced two valves and guides on cylinder 3, hopefuly this time around all will be OK! ![]() ![]() think it looks alight..considering its not been cleaned for about 3/4 months now also, stole my mist jets off this old girl ![]() RE: Hashtag YOLO ph1 sigma GTI-6 - ezb - 21-04-2015 two head rebuilds later...passed its MOT with ease yesterday...needs a good clean and polish ![]() Hashtag YOLO ph1 sigma GTI-6 - Jtrigga - 21-04-2015 Glad to see it back on the road and we'll done for sticking with it. RE: Hashtag YOLO ph1 sigma GTI-6 - ezb - 22-04-2015 Cheers, going to run it very carefully, give it a good polish and take some pictures...still quite surprised by the condition of the car....passenger mirror seems to have suddenly stopped working for some reason, but apart from that RE: Hashtag YOLO ph1 sigma GTI-6 - ezb - 29-04-2015 touch wood., passed 200miles its been faultless. still needs tidying up, roof its shagged..bonnets not much better..unless anyone has a mint ph1 sigma bonnet I'll probably just ignore these areas ![]() wheels need painting..really not a fan of the shitty red ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: Hashtag YOLO ph1 sigma GTI-6 - ezb - 10-06-2015 Did a way with the shitty red on the wheels ![]() ![]() ![]() still not sure what I plan on doing with this car..really needs lowering..and more power RE: Hashtag YOLO ph1 sigma GTI-6 - Iceman299 - 10-06-2015 So you decided to improve the 'shitty' red by painting them yellow? ![]() Looked wayyyy better red imo Edit: just read through the thread, man you've had some crappy luck with this car. Good on you for getting it all sorted ![]() RE: Hashtag YOLO ph1 sigma GTI-6 - ezb - 10-06-2015 Sundance yellow is faster...proven RE: Hashtag YOLO ph1 sigma GTI-6 - ezb - 23-03-2016 So all running fine..touch wood!! for awhile, had issues with the spoox top rad hose/thermostat adapter weeping, but all seems good now. went to a local charity rolling road day to see how many ponies it had left. made 175bhp..well just shy of RE: Hashtag YOLO ph1 sigma GTI-6 - Frosty - 23-03-2016 Decent result chap, whats it had done to make that power? Oh and looks so much better on yellow wheels RE: Hashtag YOLO ph1 sigma GTI-6 - ezb - 02-04-2016 Its just had a rebuilt head, bit of polish and porting, decat, full system, k-n panel filter..and always ran on octane..if that actually makes any difference ![]() Wasn't a fan of the standard ride height, always looked a little high on the front? especially on 16s So bought some adjustable KW coilovers, down about 40mm ![]() ![]() Rebuilding A Ph1 Sigma 6 - Frosty - 02-04-2016 Very good result then considering the work. Good show. RE: Rebuilding A Ph1 Sigma 6 - Frosty - 03-08-2016 Looking pretty mint now, sigma has to be 1 of the best 306 colours! This is certainly 1 of my favorite cars on here. Good work mate. RE: Rebuilding A Ph1 Sigma 6 - ezb - 04-08-2016 Cheers, still can't decide what to actually do with it! Was supposed to be a run around until my D-turbos sorted, but its such a good car, had a full rebuild I'm half tempted to sell that off and purchase some trumpets, a charger or some lumpy sticks RE: Rebuilding A Ph1 Sigma 6 - Ben - 04-08-2016 I assumed this was an upgrade from your dt and that the dt was destined for sale/scrap. Good to hear its not scrap, I liked that car. I can see the dilemma though you have a very nice 6 here! |
