Joker tried selling me coilovers. 120 for v-maxx. asked him for pictures then he said he cant get any but will sell for £80 posted. luckily i trusted my gut and thought he was dodgy. this makes me glad i never. good luck with sorting it out.

Agreed but he will get his comeuppance. Im not the sorta bloke to let things go easy. Hence the effort. He attempted to sell me a turbo once he said his friend had sold the pump. At which point.he dropped.the price immediately. I said id buy if the pump came through. He then dropped his price again. f*cking tool

Its in larne ireland. Bt40 postcode I have his full address, his reading this as I got a message the other day saying "whats my address" ive told him im not playing give me a refund now before I take it further
He also now knows that I can take him to small claims with it as well. He hasnt been on here since last pm yesterday. Ill give it one more day then take it a step further. Then for shits and giggles ill start locking him out of his hotmail account that I have just to annoy. Then his facebook. Then his windows live. Then just genrally ripping on him on the vw forums his part of.

Just one more thing to add as well. His "new" profile pic on facebook (that I can still get at) has a seat parked on a road in larne with the number four on the floor. Google street view is a wonderfull thing.

i think so his not looking on this forum anymore i think he wants to steer clear. ive emailed him again threatening with court action and i know he has read it as my email client i have a program that will tell me if he looks at it and on what device he viewed said email. So he is reachable at this exact moment in time but refuses to reply

reported to the police i asssume as well? get a crime number, ask your bank to look into it as a fraudulent transaction (it is theft after all), if you speak with their fraud team they will most likely be able to help
there was a guy doing this very same thing with bits from offroaders (uprated differentials etc) on a seperate site.. part of that investigation was specifically linked to the other forum and mails etc that was sent to and from constituting contract etc..
i would however, ask a member of the forum staff to lock this thread and edit any... questionable suggestions, as it may give him a credible line of defense for not contacting you back "i was fearing for my personal safety" sort of thing.. as much as it is great to air your feelings (i know i have suggested doing one or 2 things in the past in similar situations) remember he, the police, and general public can also read these forums mate..

Not yet i have threatend to do so. i had hoped that he would come to his senses before i had to get police/court involved. just more hassle and more he will have to pay if i take it to court. If you raise a case with the court and you win. (which i will he doesnt have a leg to stand on) he then has to pay the fees as well. which admittedly are only small but still its more money his end
Little update his finally got back to me saying he will refund me "soon" ive told him this is unacceptable and that i want MY money back in my account within 48 hours

yeah dont get your hopes up of getting the cash back even with a court order mate,
might still have to be escalated to the local court sheriff over in NI to get payment (they have the authority to go into property etc and collect)

Definitely report it to the police. They are really hotting up on forum fraud now (there is a good post about someone who was successfully convicted on the 205 forum) and they may already have info about this guy.

He has just emailed saying that the money will be in my account when he gets to a pc. I gave him 48 hours yesterday to get the money to me before i got the police involved. thankfully through a LOT of internet searching and forum trawling i have enough information for them to actually do something. just waiting for my money to appear now.

Unsurprisingly no money has appeared in my account. he has now had an email off me which states i will be calling his local borough police tomorrow to deal with that matter from here on in. its a shame it has come to this and that he hasn't had the sense to transfer me the money. I will keep this thread updated until i get my money back off him. Which will happen one way or another.

itll probably be that they start the investigation, if one is not already started..
most likely this will have happened a lot before, i think the guy on the other forums was finally convicted with something like 30 counts of fraud, or conspiracy to defraud.. he got a sizeable fine and prison,.

Some people are utter tools. Who seriously thinks they can still scam people online? With social media ect you can find out the last time someone had a shit in seconds so finding there home address is only a few clicks away.

Its shite when this sort of thing happens, as you start not to trust buying from people on car forums!
Why advertise something forsale, then take the lads money and not send the item out? if you have time to post a forsale thread up, then you can post it, or get a family/ mate to post it for you. So there isn't any excuses!
I have been done before, with an engine. the seller was supposedly be the best one on the forum for parts.
500 quid and a ticking time bomb! ended up been 20 quid worth of scrap!
I have seen it get really bad on one forum that the admin had to mark peoples accounts with beware bad seller!
maybe admin can do that sort of thing on here,

The good thing is the case is moving forward thanks to details he had left of himself on various forums facebook etc. The bad news is im still out of pocket. It gives forums a bad name. Everyone ive met on here seem great standup guys. Just takes one though.
