Re: Stage 3 XUD project - padge - 06-12-2011 You got msn mate? or facebook? Re: Stage 3 XUD project - ash23 - 06-12-2011 Matthew Wrote:I thought the only thing wastegate would help really, is if it was surging like a mofo low down, and would therefore stop it reaching stupid psi. For example, im de-wastegate atm...seems fine matthew just use a ko3 manifold can stil keep the actuator as im doing ![]() padge really like the car ![]() ![]() Re: Stage 3 XUD project - padge - 06-12-2011 It's tacky mate, depresses me lol. Re: Stage 3 XUD project - londondan86 - 08-12-2011 Loving this car mate, never noticed the seats before. I guess your waiting till after xmas to get the inlet/head sorted? Re: Stage 3 XUD project - Harky - 08-12-2011 You must be really good at taking pictures though 'cos I've never noticed the paintwork in anyway tacky!! Lovely car though! Re: Stage 3 XUD project - padge - 08-12-2011 Heh thanks guys, dan, funnily enough the head will be getting done next week ![]() another head, skimmed, cleaned. MLS gasket, new head bolts, inlet gasket, rocker gasket, new NGK glow plugs, timing belt, waterpump, all on next week with fresh oil, filter and coolant! oh and my polished rocker cover is going on along with polished bosch LDA cap ![]() Might be ordering a 13 row mocal oil cooler too. Re: Stage 3 XUD project - londondan86 - 09-12-2011 So you SHOULD finally have booooost!!!!!! lol Where are you gona put the oil cooler, that is on my shopping list after crimbo but cant think where to put it, dont really want it in front if the IC. Re: Stage 3 XUD project - padge - 09-12-2011 Well i can get it to boost to 16psi, but atm i've turned it way down to 10psi, and it still pulls like mad lol, it's silly how much more these flow compared to a t2, im putting the oil cooler in the wing i think, where the arch liner would come round behind the bumper. Re: Stage 3 XUD project - padge - 10-12-2011 Rocker and LDA cap finally finished.. ![]() And started to strip and clean the head down, will be cleaned up ready for monday, when it will be getting skimmed. ![]() ![]() Re: Stage 3 XUD project - Danny2009 - 10-12-2011 mmm shiny stuff !, They will look good next to your boost pipes. Should be all running properly soon then ![]() Re: Stage 3 XUD project - padge - 10-12-2011 Shouldnt be long now! got more things for the bay too ![]() Re: Stage 3 XUD project - Dave - 10-12-2011 I thought this was all up and running? whats happened why is the head off... ![]() Good project, I want you seats. ![]() Give abit of that while the heads off... might aswell ![]() Re: Stage 3 XUD project - padge - 10-12-2011 Nah dave, this is my spare head, i can only get 16psi out of the t25 because the inlet dosent tighten up in 2 places, as the threads dont excist anymore in my current head! lol hmm exhaust porting with teh dremal? ![]() Re: Stage 3 XUD project - Dave - 10-12-2011 Well you could ask is there any real difference in any of it... but you do them all, and the exhaust... it's gonna make about 0.5hp difference I suppose lol. Material match to a gasket on both the inlet mani and exhaust/inlet ports. Wow a couple of threads made that much difference to the way it boosted? What happens does it just smoke like buggery or can you hear it hissing like fook ? Re: Stage 3 XUD project - padge - 10-12-2011 it hisses, it was 9psi before we put gasket seal on aswell as a metal gasket, then got it to 16psi, smokes like feck on boost and hisses so bad lol! Re: Stage 3 XUD project - Dave - 10-12-2011 ahh fair, yea I guess that makes sence... drop your CR while you've got your head off!! Re: Stage 3 XUD project - padge - 10-12-2011 Material match to a gasket on both the inlet mani and exhaust/inlet ports I dont get what you mean here? do you mean i'll have to modify the inlet/exhaust mani gasket to match the porting adjustments? Re: Stage 3 XUD project - Dave - 10-12-2011 Use the gasket as a template, and remove material on the inlet mani to match the gasket, see how far it is on the head with the gasket and then remove material on the head to match the size of the gasket... so the plenum is smooth with less turbulence. Re: Stage 3 XUD project - padge - 10-12-2011 Thought thats what you meant ![]() ![]() Re: Stage 3 XUD project - Dave - 10-12-2011 Drop your CR aswelll!!!!!! Re: Stage 3 XUD project - padge - 10-12-2011 Ported the exhaust side out today, on this pic theres one left to do, been done now though.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Re: Stage 3 XUD project - ash23 - 10-12-2011 looks good mate how much did you take out each port ? i will hoefully have a go before i rebuild m engine ![]() ash23 Re: Stage 3 XUD project - padge - 10-12-2011 Matched it upto the gasket Re: Stage 3 XUD project - padge - 13-12-2011 Got head back today! ![]() And also picked everything else up, went with a 4 notch MLS elring headgasket ![]() Pic in my boot lol.. ![]() Re: Stage 3 XUD project - Mattcheese31 - 13-12-2011 getting somewhere now mate, am starting to get slightly jealous . . . . . Re: Stage 3 XUD project - Kaeten M - 13-12-2011 this is lookin good ![]() Re: Stage 3 XUD project - sam - 13-12-2011 Love this pug can't say anything I'd change on it, spot on chap! |
