Mate that was luxury when that was made! That was like rolling in a Bentley or something!

But I did realise that there were so many shades on beige lol

Continuing to be amazed at how hard it is to find spare parts for these, and how useless the forum is (205gtidrivers) - signed up a week ago and my account still hasn't been validated. Rolleyes

Made good progress with her so far, all the seals have been cleaned now. Next job is sorting that injector, then we can start pulling everything off for the chassis refresh. Will try and update with pics as i go along, but you know what i'm like lol.

Re: 205 STDT - Restoration - aggyj17 - 01-07-2013

Wat parts are you after? I broke whole cti so have a load of spare parts

RE: 205 STDT - Restoration - ginge191 - 01-07-2013

Holla if you need a hand with anything mate; I've had to source a spare of nearly everything, and, a fair few 306 parts are interchangeable

RE: 205 STDT - Restoration - Poodle - 01-07-2013

The bits i need are parts unique to the stdt (badges and sunroof, sunroof is shared with gti models i think). Rolleyes If i think of anything that's not so specific i'll certainly give you a shout, cheers guys.

RE: 205 STDT - Restoration - ginge191 - 01-07-2013

you're finding car specific things?! christ.. you've bought a good car.

Saying that, i know a friend breaking a gti; im getting the bumpers, what else do you want, i'll see what he has.

RE: 205 STDT - Restoration - Poodle - 01-07-2013

Hahaha i certainly hope so mate! Literally just need those bits listed above now, i've got pretty much everything else sorted already. If you could ask him about sunroof glass, rails and handles that'd be great, cheers!

I also need to track down an original beige steering wheel and gearknob in decent condition, but guess that'll take a while since they're not exactly desirable lol.

RE: 205 STDT - Restoration - Pugmarshall - 01-07-2013

Usually a few 205's in the scrappy by me and I know a few people into them, I'm always getting offered parts. If you need anything let me know!

Looks tidy, nice to see another being saved Smile

I have a beige steering wheel and gearknob Smile

Aggy you got a top dash plastic? Desperatly need a black one

Re: 205 STDT - Restoration - aggyj17 - 01-07-2013

Yes I think I do ill get a pic

RE: 205 STDT - Restoration - silverzx - 01-07-2013

I know what you mean about parts!

Ginge, if you could get me the dash cowling that covers the cluster I'd appreciate it! As long as its same as STDT one, which I'm 99% sure it is!

RE: 205 STDT - Restoration - Poodle - 01-07-2013

Do you now, Dan?! Fookin amazing, YHPM, again lol. Big Grin

Sunroof assembly bits, pugmarshall? One that's in at the moment is zip-tied down lol.

Re: 205 STDT - Restoration - THE_Liam - 01-07-2013

How did I miss this? Looks like a cracking motor mate, saving for a 205 as a second car myself Wink

RE: 205 STDT - Restoration - Dum-Dum - 01-07-2013

Beige is a comfy colour I must add. Slightly jealous. Might have to accidentally pick up the wrong car off you.

I've seen her annoyed and was surprised that you were still walking the next day so I can imagine her angry. That said although I haven't seen her angry she hasn't seen where I live Smile

RE: 205 STDT - Restoration - Poodle - 03-07-2013

RE: 205 STDT - Restoration - rd070707 - 07-07-2013

One for sale around my way exactly like this! what does the wee xud7 go like?

RE: 205 STDT - Restoration - Poodle - 08-07-2013

Hard to tell because I don't think this one is 100%, she doesn't seem to boost properly, almost feels like a nad in all honesty.

RE: 205 STDT - Restoration - MissTap_GTI6 - 08-07-2013

This 205 is lovely! It was really nice seeing you and Charlie yesterday Smile

RE: 205 STDT - Restoration - Poodle - 19-08-2013

Big update to come on this, will do it properly whem i've got the time and inclination to sort out the pictures and write the prose. Huge thanks to the guys who turned out to help this weekend, really couldn't have done any of it without you. Still got a fair old way to go, should keep me busy over the next couple of weeks, but crucially should be complete in time.

RE: 205 STDT - Restoration - Curt - 19-08-2013

You're shit with pictures Tongue

Sounds good though man, will keep an eye out for an update Smile.

RE: 205 STDT - Restoration - Jenkosowls - 19-08-2013

Do your research into the 1.6 hdi motor they do have a bad reputation across all manufactures that use the engine particularly ford and Psa BMW less so. It's more to do with turbo chargers dying and plenty of people can't seem to solve it even doing the maufactures way of drainning the oil doesnt work! Although never had an issue with mine in the 207 I had. Wiring maybe an issue with the can bus system

RE: 205 STDT - Restoration - Poodle - 19-08-2013

Lol Curt, shurrup! Tongue

Cheers, I am aware of the issues with the 1.6hdi. I suspect its actually got more to do with the ridiculously long service intervals tbh. We've got a couple here at work which have been serviced every 8-10k - both engines on over 80k - and they've not had an issue. Plus it'll only be happening if something happens to the engine that I can't fix with original parts for a feasible cost, so probably not at all lol.

RE: 205 STDT - Restoration - jammapic - 19-08-2013

Don't forget there's a 1.6hdi doing 230hp on stock internals!!

Very jealous, right bit of kit!
