Yup, you're sooooooo damn right! Money rules everything unfortunatly....and when theres not much of it around that has a knock on effect of literally everything else. ![]() Re: Not going above 2k RPM - Grant - 27-01-2012 Re: Not going above 2k RPM - Foxy-jim - 27-01-2012 I know it sounds weird...but my old little nitro car sounded like that when there was little/no fuel. Is the fuel pump working? It may be supplying enough fuel for idle but not enough for anything else. It doesn't sound like a rev limiter. Re: Not going above 2k RPM - Grant - 27-01-2012 This has only happened since fitting the 6 fanny mould. It could be completely unrelated to it, but i would say its quitelikely to be something thats been affected by this. You can be driving the car fine, then all of a sudden POW, this ^^ lol. If it was a fuelling problem, surely it would be constant? Re: Not going above 2k RPM - Dum-Dum - 27-01-2012 I think youve damaged a wire and its breaking intermittantly Re: Not going above 2k RPM - Grant - 27-01-2012 why would this lead to the revs bouncing like this? Its a constant thing, exactly the same revs every time. I will give all the wiring a wriggle around later to check... Re: Not going above 2k RPM - Foxy-jim - 27-01-2012 I see what you mean. Ye just check everything is in place and no air leaks etc. Re: Not going above 2k RPM - Grant - 18-02-2012 So just as an update, and incase anyone else has similar issues, it turned out the TPS was not plugged in..... /facepalm The car has been running fine for about 300 miles now Tit Re: Not going above 2k RPM - Scott - 18-02-2012 Grant Wrote:/facepalm Re: Not going above 2k RPM - Dum-Dum - 18-02-2012 I said it was something not plugged in Re: Not going above 2k RPM - Foxy-jim - 18-02-2012 Haha that must have been so annoying! Re: Not going above 2k RPM - Ian - 18-02-2012 Back on topic... Has it somehow slipped the timing? If its getting hot and you are getting "popping" from the air filter, the piston might be completing the bang before the inlet valve is fully shut causing the flame to come back out the intake? Could it then be a sensor (possibly MAF) reading this and limiting it to 2k without activating the EML? Far fetched i know... Re: Not going above 2k RPM - Dan! - 18-02-2012 Ian, Grant has said up there that the TPS wasnt plugged in...... ![]() Not going above 2k RPM - Jonny b - 18-02-2012 Ha ha keep up bud Re: Not going above 2k RPM - Ian - 18-02-2012 *Slowly backs out of thread...* Re: Not going above 2k RPM - Rippthrough - 24-02-2012 Here's me just about to post 'tps is dodgy'.... ...not if you plug it in it isn't, yer tit! Re: Not going above 2k RPM - Grant - 25-02-2012 Thanks anyway Ian. Not skipped a beat since, so pretty sure it was this ![]() |
