RE: Ell Diablo - 306Dan - 17-10-2013 You gonna have a go at seam welding the subframe first?? Been wanting to do my spare one for awail. RE: Ell Diablo - Poodle - 18-10-2013 Aw you should have asked mate, i could have turned your underside purple in about thirty seconds! Looks mint though mate, any plans for the boot lid so you can bring back the race fork? Would be rude not to ![]() (18-10-2013, 05:38 AM)Poodle Wrote: Aw you should have asked mate, i could have turned your underside purple in about thirty seconds! Haha I dread to think. Not too sure yet. Tbh it drives so much more comfortably without it. For the 4 minutes it takes to change it I'm tempted to just put it on for track days. I can kind of hear myself think when I drive it now lol RE: Ell Diablo - Piggy - 18-10-2013 love the purple... but going by the underside of mine...be ready for stone chips and pigeon heads to damage the paint ![]() RE: Ell Diablo - Just Sean - 18-10-2013 and copious amounts of oil! Haha :-) RE: Ell Diablo - Grant - 18-10-2013 Would you and Niall stop trying to get me to spend my money! lol I have enough problems with doing that as it is, without being pointed in the direction of more things. RE: Ell Diablo - floz123 - 18-10-2013 Haha sorry but it had to be done ![]() Ell Diablo - Jonny b - 18-10-2013 Set of bodies here for cheap!! Just saying!! RE: Ell Diablo - Jonny81191 - 18-10-2013 This looks fecking horrendous, why would you bother putting so much effort into a frecnch shitheap? Your missus must be devestated lol Anyway the purple looks really good against the black underseal background RE: Ell Diablo - Ed Doe - 19-10-2013 Looks good buddy ![]() RE: Ell Diablo - Grant - 21-10-2013 Got some on order ![]() RE: Ell Diablo - Grant - 24-10-2013 So after what started as a silly conversation, I am now in a few minds as to how I progress with this: -Drop a 1.8/2.0'6 hybrid engine in and boost it -Space frame the rear of the car, drop a rover v8 in. I was budgeting for a roll cage anyway, so no major additional costs on the space frame. Rover v8's are cheap enough to pick up on fleabay. They aren't the most powerful of V8's in the world, but sound epic and are cheap to buy. Thinking logically about it, if the space frame and engine were in, theres not a HUGE cost left, besides machining down driveshafts/geabox adaptor plates. As I said, started as a silly conversation, but I reckon it's doable for the same price as boosting a '6 engine, and would sound fapping epic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrupygp077A RE: Ell Diablo - Dum-Dum - 24-10-2013 Would be epic but there's space to fit one in the front and IMO front engine RWD would retain the 306s handing alot better. RE: Ell Diablo - Grant - 24-10-2013 So you're saying get it up front, keep the original drivetrain and run it down the exhaust tunnel. Have suspension mounts welded into the rear, run coils on the rear and thus inevitably meaning I would need side exit exhausts because there is a drivetrain in the way? Its a lot less work that way TBF RE: Ell Diablo - Just Sean - 24-10-2013 side exits ftmfw RE: Ell Diablo - Grant - 24-10-2013 Been looking into servicing and maintenance costs on these; An OE quality HG set is £54 Alternator £70 Dizzy and leads £35 List goes on but the seem pretty cheap to maintain. Just the petrol costs to consider! haha RE: Ell Diablo - Just Sean - 24-10-2013 cant be much worse than a boosted 6 RE: Ell Diablo - Midnightclub - 24-10-2013 Sooo many better V8's out there man :/ RE: Ell Diablo - Grant - 24-10-2013 Any suggestions Danny? ![]() RE: Ell Diablo - Just Sean - 24-10-2013 how much do m5 lumps go for? RE: Ell Diablo - Grant - 24-10-2013 £1500-£2500 lol Although it would be epic win, out of my budget RE: Ell Diablo - Midnightclub - 24-10-2013 Whats the budget.. and I'll give some suggestions ![]() RE: Ell Diablo - Grant - 24-10-2013 £550 ![]() RE: Ell Diablo - Midnightclub - 24-10-2013 Probably.. either a 1UZ-FE or a M60B30, both pretty cheap and make substantially more power RE: Ell Diablo - Grant - 24-10-2013 Fair suggestions there mate, thanks. One main attraction to the rover V8 was the fact it was mechanically timed, hence making life a lot easier. Just got the setup/balance the carbs and pretty much thats it ready to go. RE: Ell Diablo - Curt - 24-10-2013 Please do this... Who cares how much power it makes when it sounds like that! Used to have a V8 Disco workhorse for carrying shit around/pulling trailers here, it was shit, slow and rotten... but sounded awesome ![]() |
