Would weigh approximately 7.5 f*ck tons (03-09-2013, 11:34 AM)Ed Doe Wrote: Solid top engine mount? Close. Don't know how you could make a solid upper mount from that? But its to replace the bush that goes in the lower engine mount fork. Cut it into 30mm lengths and drill a 12mm hole though it and hey presto, just press it in. Goodbye fillings/spine ![]() RE: Ell Diablo - Ed Doe - 03-09-2013 ROFL! I want a go! ![]() RE: Ell Diablo - Grant - 03-09-2013 I bet your girlfriend would too. Probably beats the washing machine! ![]() RE: Ell Diablo - Ed Doe - 03-09-2013 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WWihPtoeGs RE: Ell Diablo - Grant - 03-09-2013 ![]() Busy day at work then ed? Lol RE: Ell Diablo - Ed Doe - 03-09-2013 Yup. I'm on lunch in fairness ![]() RE: Ell Diablo - Dum-Dum - 03-09-2013 Grant Yessssssssss, I should of thought of that after having sent you the measurements of the oem bush the other week. RE: Ell Diablo - Grant - 03-09-2013 Thats it Chris! So it started life like this ![]() And got cut to 50mm (near enough!) ![]() And drilled out to 10mm. The old bush had to be drifted out (absolute bitch of a job) ![]() And this is what remains ![]() And how it sits tonight. Still gotta drift it through another ~15mm ![]() Took the best part of about 4 hours. Well, managed to fit new rear discs and pads, but that takes about as long as a cup of tea! RE: Ell Diablo - Tom - 04-09-2013 Thats going to be umm, interesting. RE: Ell Diablo - Grant - 04-09-2013 No more interesting than the billet mount that's already in the lower engine mount lol RE: Ell Diablo - Grant - 07-09-2013 So a bit of an update. Managed to get the lower engine mount fork billet bush pressed it properly. ![]() Jesus christ, the throttle response is immense! It really has livened up the car no end. The responsiveness, feedback and sharpness is phenomenal. Its not all bliss though. Its madly solid, to the point it reverberates every panel in the car. The panel vibration is louder than the exhaust ![]() However, the girlfriend loved it, I near enough had to bail out the car 500 meters up the road. Winnar Had a productive day at work friday... Somehow I am now particularly popular amongst traffic wardens in london nowdays... ![]() And went to the breakers yard today. Got a good bargain. EPAS pump, new gear stick, lower engine mount fork (with standard bush!!!) and this battery box for £40 ![]() A little surface rust, but been grinding it back this eve and ready to paint up now ![]() RE: Ell Diablo - Grant - 23-09-2013 So first update in a while. Been very quiet due to various social matters and a lack if spare time. Managed to get out on the car today and get quite a bit done. Firstly I set about chopping the suspension turrets so that I can run camber on my adjustable top mounts. As you can see from the picture, the adjustment is hindered by the shape of the turret, so some modification is needed ![]() Like so: ![]() ![]() Also sanded down some surface rust whilst I was there All primered up ![]() And in its full colours ![]() Got quite a bit of the inner arch undersealed too. Also unblocked the drainage point by the wiper motor Before: ![]() After: ![]() RE: Ell Diablo - samass - 23-09-2013 You seem to have a bit of lady garden stuck in your chassis.... RE: Ell Diablo - Dum-Dum - 24-09-2013 Those rain gutters are a terrible design. Really need to try and clean mine. RE: Ell Diablo - Grant - 24-09-2013 It really is a poor design. You could cut the hole bigger if you really wanted. At least that way leaves would have half a chance of washing out... I've also found a bit of rust that will need welding up under the PAS reservoir RE: Ell Diablo - Grant - 29-09-2013 So got a lot of goodies to fit to the car now. ![]() List to fit: -'6 inlet manifold -New wishbones -New hubs -Scorpion exhaust -Side skirts -New dent free door -New dent free wing -Black bonnet badge -Non leaky door seal -Arch liners - at last! I also started rolling the arches to solve scrubbing issues on the rear wheels. Didnt go too well ![]() excuse the crappy phone pic ![]() RE: Ell Diablo - WiNgNuTz - 29-09-2013 I didnt realise Stevie Wonder did arch rolling! ![]() RE: Ell Diablo - Jonny b - 29-09-2013 Kin hell what was you using? A steam roller lol RE: Ell Diablo - Grant - 29-09-2013 'C'mon guys dont be mean, it aint that bad for a first attempt... ![]() ![]() RE: Ell Diablo - WiNgNuTz - 29-09-2013 If you say so mate. ![]() Maybe if you squint a bit from about 400 paces away.... ![]() RE: Ell Diablo - Niall - 29-09-2013 It does look really good in real life. Just a bad angle on the photo.....all of them. RE: Ell Diablo - lolsteve - 29-09-2013 Holly duck balls! what is that! RE: Ell Diablo - 306Dan - 29-09-2013 I do hope your still fitting those arches, on another note what did you roll em with? A sledge hammer?? RE: Ell Diablo - Grant - 29-09-2013 Pliers lol RE: Ell Diablo - Jonny b - 29-09-2013 Ha ha your fitting arches ain't ya??? I fecking hope so bud!! Lol No way you would do that if your not!! I think (pray) RE: Ell Diablo - Grant - 29-09-2013 Nah not bothering with arches. I'm hoping that it will all bash into shape with a rubber mallet. Good shout, but what about the grey door in the last pic? ![]() RE: Ell Diablo - Jonny b - 29-09-2013 He said earlier dent free door dent free wing!!! RE: Ell Diablo - Dum-Dum - 30-09-2013 Dude you need to get some stick on arches to hide that atrocity, Thats worse than my attempt to flare the front arches on my beemer by nearly 2 inches |
