325TDS a la Dum-Dum - Dum-Dum - 31-03-2012 So as a few of you know on Thursday I bought a BMW 325 TDS Its on 187,000 miles, 2.5l, 6 cylinder, 12 valve, turbo diesel, RWD, 5 speed manual that has a Bosch VP pump It makes funny noises and is pissing fuel out the pump (hopefully sealed that today) but it drives well and feels surprisingly quick on boost. Ive got it running on veg already. [attachment=4] [attachment=3] [attachment=2] [attachment=1] Oh and I took it for a dyno today and even with its fuel leak it made 145.6bhp and 208lb/ft. [attachment=0] Thats 1.6bhp and 16lb/ft up on a standard car even though its done silly mileage and was running veg. Plans are a modded mechanical Bosch, a bigger FMIC, induction kit, de-cat and maybe a stupidly large turbo. Also coilies and wheels off an E39 5 series. My main aim is to have more power than a 328i with a inlet manifold swap so 240bhp. Would love to be able to beat an M3 but think thats a bit far. Oh and drifting is fun even if your really really shit at it. Re: 325TDS a la Dum-Dum - 4WayDiablo - 31-03-2012 Thats a good power figure! Not bad for an old bimmer :-) Quite like it but a colour coded front bumper would go a mile to make it look better although when your going sideways whats it matter lol Re: 325TDS a la Dum-Dum - Connor - 31-03-2012 Horrible colour Re: 325TDS a la Dum-Dum - Dum-Dum - 31-03-2012 Connor Wrote:Horrible colourI bought a rust coloured one so nobody would notice all the rust. Re: 325TDS a la Dum-Dum - Connor - 31-03-2012 Still, horrible colour lol Re: 325TDS a la Dum-Dum - Dum-Dum - 31-03-2012 Might be matt white on purple wheels when I get time. Re: 325TDS a la Dum-Dum - silverzx - 31-03-2012 Are they all VP Bosch's? Can just stick veg in them straight away? Any running issues? 325TDS a la Dum-Dum - Matt - 31-03-2012 Dum-Dum Wrote:Might be matt white on purple wheels when I get time. Yep theyer all bosch VPs. you can fit a VE from a 324TDS or early 524TDS but theyer like rocking horse shit (although I have found one) Im pourning straight veg in mine, its a little louder but no running issues (as seen from the dyno graph) 325TDS a la Dum-Dum - Matt - 31-03-2012 Dum-Dum Wrote:Matt Wrote:Yes but id had the idea in my head since before you posted the pics of what youd done to yours so IMO you stole my idea so im not copying. Re: 325TDS a la Dum-Dum - Dum-Dum - 31-03-2012 Aircool the 6 pot makes an epic noise. Phil cheers for the link, no point me doing Ecu mods if im getting a full mechanical pump. Re: 325TDS a la Dum-Dum - n0v0s - 01-04-2012 Yeah, its a resistor mod that fools the ecu so you can get more fuel in so more powaaaa until you fit the mechanical. Original pump head is 10mm? Good for around 200bhp iirc? ![]() Re: 325TDS a la Dum-Dum - n0v0s - 01-04-2012 Also, would it not work out cheaper to get a 12mm 6cyl. bosch pump from something else and fit that? Rather than getting a 324tds pump and then another 12mm pump just for the head? Surely the shaft/pulley could be modified/bodged? That way the pump would be calibrated to a 12mm head too? Re: 325TDS a la Dum-Dum - THE_Liam - 01-04-2012 Looks tidy for a car with that mileage. Needs the M-Sport bits, bumpers, skirts and spoiler, will look epic ![]() |
