Hi Lads,
Just Come Across This Forum, Got A 'R' Reg D Turbo (3Door), Rev Counter Doesn't Work, Also The Windows Don't Work (Electric). Recently Changed The Switch Also The Fuse But Still No Good... Also When You Work The Window Switches, The Rear Window Heater Switch Lights Up :S Havn't A Clue How Just Does...

Anyone Got Any Ideas?

Cheers,

Hello and welcome to the forum! This problem I think is almost certainly the door loom! Its very common after years of abuse that the wires are exposed and broken and can short on one another. The loom is the black rubbery bit between the door and the shell which you can see when you open the door! Youll need to pull back the rubber surround and resolder the wires together.

welcome once again! You will find the guide section very helpful on this site and also the possiblity for the dturbo is epic! If youre running standard 90hp now then you can easily get up to 120hp with just the turn of a screwdriver!

Im not too sure about the rev counter!
Welcome to 306oc

The window is more than likely the regulator will need changing, get the door card off and see if the cable is intact.

As for the rev counter there's a black box on the back of the block, held on by 2 bolts iirc take it out clean it and put it back on.
Welcome to the forum.

The windows are probably down to the door looms being shagged (IIRC theres a guide on how to repair them in the guides or the electrics section). Its a common problem and basically the wires get brittle with age and the doors being constantly opened and shut. The heater light will be coming on at a guess as its shorting into the heated mirrors wire

Is it one window that dosent work or both? Does the passenger window work from the passenger side door switch? Have you tried them with the doors open as well as the doors closed?

The rev counter will most likely be the sensor (its at the back of the block pointing at the fly wheel) take it out clean it and try again, if not try and screw it a little closer to the fly wheel.
Cheers Lads, Will Have A Look At It Tomorrow, Already Got The Boost Turned Up Mate haha (Hear The Turbo Spooling Through The Car) Big Grin
