Full Version: Silly question about VO(language), and also about the environment

Been looking into running my dturbo on VO. And from what I read on these forums, you talk about VO as one oil, and rapeseed and sunflower etc as different oils.
What is VO? Here in Norway VO is just the common name for all cooking oils coming for plants. So we call rapeseed a vegetable oil. So this is my silly language question Tongue

Also, is VO better for the environment? It comes from a much more renewable source ofc, but hows the emissions from the car? Nox, Co2 etc?
terms used over here are...

SVO = Straight Vegetable Oil
WVO = Waste Vegetable Oil

Aye, but Straight Vegetable Oil, is that rapeseed etc? or do you have one oil named vegetable oil? Cause it sometimes seems like that when I read posts about it.
Thanks for the reply Smile
Veg oil, rapeseed oil, sunflower oil, soya oil is all classed as VO.

SVO is new.
WVO is used.

Also nox co2 etc there have been a few studies online regarding this. Cant remember the out comes though.
