Few issues to be addressed, brake line quite tight, boost pipe close to servo, (and the main one) exhaust down pipe needs to be remade  Dodgy

Also was planning on fitted the HDi box, but what's the crack if I remove the selector arm? I seem to recall hearing somewhere the shaft will drop into the box? Or is that a myth?

(Ignore the grubbiness of the 2nd box, previous owner didn't have time to clean it for me Tongue )
I'd love to know about 4 port master cylinders as the one on my 106 is only a tiny 19mm.

The fast 106/saxo came with a 20.6mm but i'd like bigger still.




Oh and having reminded myself what I wanted to look at today. 4601K1 is the part number you want Fiat Scudo, Ulyseese, Peugeot 806, Expert, Citroen Synergy, dispatch etc. Anyway it's 23.8mm and off a NON ABS veh with 4 ports
What do you want to know dum? Mines off a 2.0 406 non abs and is a 23mm one
No its not a myth MrFish. You need to keep your shaft up (ooo eerrr missus) when you knock the pin out. It can be sorted if it drops in its just fiddley. Will be a lot easier with the box out the car.
If it does drop, just look at the photo you've taken, drop the shaft in a bit and lift it up in the position in the photo. If that makes sense.

If not diff out and you can push it back up there

Gearbox washed off (better than it was), new driveshaft seals, cable drive setup, new thrust bearing sleeve, fresh fork bushes, reverse switch swapped and converted to pull clutch.

Frosty popped round and buzz'd off the crank pulleys on both engines so I could bolt up the aux setup from the 1.9NAD onto the new lump.

Also helped get the box back on

Gearbox done now, need to trim bit off the back of the turbo, replace the cam cover seal and decide on water piping.

Waiting on parts but in the mean time called upon a fully qualified spanner monkey to make up a new brake line for me. Tongue .

Also spent majority of yesterday evening amongst driveshafts, CV Grease and circlips.  Undecided

Loom is uber basic, you can see it in the second photo on this page, hanging over the passengers side. Rev counter plug is different but I'll have a fiddle when the engine is back in.

Think I may have sussed a different route now, but will keep you informed. Need twin beacons for that van of yours as that will be the south west support vehicle.

206 bumpers are OK. Can get photos if you so wish. Front is a sport one. The rear isn't though.

It went to FCS, I know its no show piece but was using the show date as a deadline to have it on the road, out the shed etc. Few people interested in the relic which is nice.

Been driving it since the weekend each day and drives rather well for an old nail. Got two track rod ends and a wheel bearing to do at the weekend.
Good to see it made it. Nothing like a last minute build! Big Grin
Looks weird seeing a photo of myself welding, but not in my normal farming clothes lol!
I thought this was a good car at fcs. Definitely had the wtf factor to it.

Going to pull the hub off tonight as the bearing has slight play in it. Plus got a brand new one that came with the car. Also got two TREs so will probably get those fitted too.

Apart from that, just sort my gauges out and mounted properly, look at the lower engine mount and sort the rear section of exhaust. 
Got lots of potential this car, lots of room in the engine bay, love a 309 and getting rarer all the time Smile
Fair play for getting it all done in time fish. On the drive up to FCS i couldn't stop laugh each time i saw you. The 309 looks so out of place going up the M5 but in a good way Smile
Loving this project :-) My mates just bought a 309 as it was cheaper than getting his beemer thru the mot. We've already been on the motorway loaded up with tools and it's getting to have a proper retro feel to it! £310 quid and it went straight thru an MOT with no advisories Big Grin He had a Zest in the same colour as yours some years back, so reliable as a work-horse and did it shift some stuff!

Had an MOT at the weekend so pulled the front hub off to do the wheel bearing and took it with me...

Also had two new TREs so fitted those. Just need it tracked up now.

Took the rear drum off one side as the rear brakes aren't doing too much. cleaned up but the wheel cylinder is stuck it seems so probabably fit some new ones.

Only thing though is the wheel register on the drum has had some heavy handed spanner gorilla attack it and is fairly chipped away. So basically new drum needed.

Anyone know if a 306 drum would fit? I don't mind if the back plate and brake shoe setup is needed as I probably have access to it.

looks a cracking little sleeper! how does it move compared to the 206?
