Talking of Vauxhall Carlton, theres a Lotus Carlton round here that I see very rarely. Hadn't seen one before and first time I saw it just assumed some dick had stuck had stuck a Lotus badge on an old Vauxhall! lol

Saw one of these yesterday. I want one!
Spotted not one but two mk4 scrotes today at Morrisons in Morley, rare versions too a van and a combi estate (excuse the rubbish pic)
Another one the mk3 astra, those have disappeared now from the roads, those were a common sight here.
I am not surprised with rovers. as most were binned before their time. plus i don't think the rover community is all that strong to save them, compared to the mg counter part.

the coupe club closed down a few years back fella, as no one was buying them, in fact those were the most rover to be broken, due to people not buying them. Shame sadly, as those were great motors!
God damn it, this thread has made me frantically find old pictures of my j plate nova gsi rep to post.
Might find them eventually

get them found and posted up.
A few typical Cairo cars, wish I'd taken more photos in hindsight!:
when I dropped the metro off to be welded, there was a Saab 900, that had been used as a donor car, it had the front inner wings chopped off, The lad who is doing mine, said he cannot get panels for saabs anymore. So sadly a donor had to be used.
This one was on a H plate, I recon that's another car that will die off too, I know they did hold the value really well, but un sure now.
Lovely  metro turbo on eBay Smile
just come back from getting the cat some grub, and a Mk2 fiesta in beige past me, on a E plate I think it was. Looked the part mind!
Peugeot 104?? Didn't even know they made them haha!

I think I just say remember seeing one of those on the road, when I was a kid, like the Talbot sun beams.
Not that rare but my latest purchase. Sitting in England waiting for me to get it home.

if any car that is over 15 years old now, I would say is a keeper, and really worth saving.
to night I picked the metro up from the body shop and this was in the car park!

Saw a Renault 21 Turbo a while ago.

Renault 19 16v's seemed to have vanishied, probably due to head gasket failure lol.

Lada- not a bad thing though.

Datsun Cherry - Now i am showing my age.

My neibour owns a mint cavalier GSI 2000

Does anybody remeber the calibra body kit on the old cavaliers

Talking of calibras, they have vanished too.

I think most of the calibras lost their engines do the nova/ corsa and astra boys back in the day. So I think most of those were binned off early sadly.
Been well over 20 years since I saw a Datsun cherry, well anything with the name Datsun, its all Nissan now.
Lada again most of those were either sent back or binned, I tell you I bet it would be fun trying to keep one of those on the road now.
All the Renaults of the 19 era I think are history now.
Renault 5 Gordini Turbo, When i was an apprentice one of the guys at the garage had one as a project and it was a utter s**t to work on.
