Big. O_O
Love the welded rods..proper XUD style!
Dave you never fail to impress me with problem soloutions, the rods are just inspired mate, and also +1 on the lols with the turbo pic!
still sounding like a train at idle when cold I take it?
haha cheers mark, nah not sounding like that now, still running plenty of advance clatter which I looove, but the timing with completely out at fcs.. was advanced probably 10 degrees at FCS... its no where near that now...
hm thought better update this, after the recent tragic fail of biblical proportions that engine got chucked, and the next engine is pretty much scrap aswell, which is pretty shite. Photos anywho.
fubar block coming out,
car looking very sorry,
old block.
turbo had to come apart to check for damage, was ok though.
my dad chopping up a scrap crank so, gonna be doing some weight tests and stuff on a piece of material.
Thought was about time I made a visit to the scrap yard aswell, still have half a trailer full of old gearboxes and puch maxi parts....
And to my disappointment, the worn out donor block, must have done some insane miles, tons of piston slap, and bores glazed to f*ck, which I cant be arsed to do anything with, not worth reworking internals or wasting a gasket/oil.
and the workspace....
Have dropped a totally stock block back in her now
so have to just watch boost until I can get hold of a good bottom end to play with again... I missed boost
going down to see Darren Ruan and James in next few days unfortunatly its not going to be running anywhere near what I wanted it to be
That's a shame mate. Hopefully the new block will be a bit more reliable for you when you start putting silly boost through it!
Dave has arrived in cornwall, with 4 wheels still attached to the car (just) and 4 conrods still in the block (thank fook)
9mm pump FTL tho!
In te lobbsop at te moment on a totally fail laptop, guess wic keys dont work on tis.... need to swap rear drums...
Im not the best welder,
should flow well though
Looks like a nice project. What power you aiming for?
Fu..kin.....'ell......
hock:
Nice welding dave..........
Dan you sarcastic bastard
at the welding, that looks like about my standard of welding does that mate, if its functional then who gives a shite what it looks like..............
Its actually alot better than it looks, its penetrated very well to the right thickness its just there is so many gaps that needed filling I just sprayed it everywhere in the end :p I have the other side of the turbo to do now..... turbo to exhaust.... and gear linkages are all in the way, leaving about 1.8inches of room to squeeze enough flow for 6k in there :p
Hello ha11
Hello....
Spent this evening making turbo flange plat up etc, the turbo sits so much lower then stock, and I want it to remain OEM fitting so I have to move the exhaust downpipe back up again... bit tight against the gearlinkage as said before but shouldn't cause any issues... if I do find any out comes the grinder... my face is f*cking sunburnt to shit now...

Now that's some nice tidy welding, good effort Dave
Looks like a T25 of a S13?
That inferior technology is coming off...
silverzx Wrote:Looks like a T25 of a S13?
It was bigger than that to start with!
From your above comment Dave would I be correct in guessing VNT?
Its got a T28 on it at the moment, as you guessed correctly at FCS
VNT's are £££, control sucks and cruising is shit ... here is the biggest problem I have right now,
so in two minds to just cut all the linkages and shorten them, have made up a plate as you saw above, but its a little narrow inside.... EMP/EGT guage post turbo to see how it affects the backpressure I think.... The T28 still had alot more to give with anyway.
The the top part of it right down around dave, on the linkages I mean...will work just the same and be out the way
Ive had to do that a few times to fit blowers in!
