Dave Wrote:Unlucky mark, you waiting on these for FCS yeh, do you think they will come in time?

They better bloody had do, I can't come with my halfords specials on, its a bloody embarrassment lol

They are out for delivery today so they WILL be on today............and my tracking will be done! Unless they come at 5 in which case it will all need doing tomorrow, nothing like last minute eh............

You got your shiny shiny fitted then?
I hope they do mark, I want to see these wheels that you've told me so much about Wink Are you sure they will be delivered today? I guess its not the end of the world if they come tomorrow, can always do it then... Plenty of time, am rebuilding my turbo today, last minute Wink

Speaking of which, I couldnt resist some chronic compressor porn.........

It was apart only a few months ago, I love how easy stuff just comes apart then 'cos its not all seized together!
Finally got round to cleaning/rebuilding some injectors...

A few people saw how holy shit they were at FCS... so its clean once warm now, finally...
Finished uni, get a few things to do around the house, pack stuff away then I can press on with new block build with balanced crank. Pretty much everything in the bay will be replaced, again will try timelapse 'cos that was awesome to look back at.

Don't know what your talking about, it ran like a dream at FCS after being jump started off my car and then dying and missing for about 10 mins while you held your foot on the throttle to try and keep it running Tongue

I like the shiny though! they look like new! have you replaced anything or just cleaned the shit out of it all?
Haha yeh thanks again for that mark Wink that was a bloody good day right to the end.

Nah just been dismantled/cleaned & tested, they seem to be ok now just needed a bloody good gunge clear.
Im terrible at attention to detail on this sort of stuff, so they probably wont ever get taken apart again, same with the head - the copper washers and fireseals wont ever be taken out.

Wow that Is epic I suppose that's what 40+ psi will do that. Saw the video of the injectors on YouTube glad they are sorted they are simple enough to do.

Yeh to continue my first update, of the little end that left the engine....

Those were HDI rods running probably less than 180hp, well it didnt feel as quick as it had been previously... anyway technical discussion can wait, few pics... will upload more later...

For those that know my youtube, will see the full extent of the damage to con rods hehe
Just been watching the latest videos Confused gutted for you. So HDI rods are not worth the effort i'm guessing or was it just your epic set-up?
For the first time in a loooooooooong time I just had a total brown pants f*ck ME THIS IS QUICK moment!!!
Number plate suits you.. Engine just spat out a conrod.. MEH

Video or passenger ride please x
Its not impressive sound wise, but the instant torque and long delivery makes it amazing to drive... I gave an S3 a run for its money yesterday haha
Aside from shitting myself about the fact im now using a DHY block...

I decided to finally get round to fitting a sandwich plate, and mounting up my boost, IPP, oil pressure/temp and EGT gauges on the dash... and routing the signal leads through the bulkhead properly rather than simply through the window. Bit of a boring update but I cant be assed posting up shitty vids at the moment until I can compile a proper one.

Actually PMSL, that is a f*cking quality job right there mate! love it! haha

Looks like David Blunketts dog helped you mount them.....

Who needs gauges!
Few more on the damage done..

For anyone whos interested, heres the difference between a typical T2 and T25.. you can see why they flow much more... obviously these two are f*cked though..

Current situation, although have now got all gauges finally fitted and mounted. Next job, source some proper rods... Sad

Runs clean as a whistle at 22psi, and im afraid to push it further with boost/timing/revs until I get a half decent engine... its killing me driving like this.. its fast, but horrible knowing it could be much quicker...
Watched the video earlier on youtube love seeing that I'm no the only one to pull over at the side of the road to have a little tinker with the pump.

It has to be done!!... thank god for MBC's and 13mm spanners!!
Bit rough I know, but finally got these mounted up. Two arnt really needed at the moment until I start pushing a little... but gives me peace of mind im not gonna blow £££ of turbo up. Two mechanical, and three electronic, the mechanical gauges may not be the 'safest' lol, but they were a damn sight easier to sort out, had sensor issues with the electronic oil gauges.

Better than having all the pipes/wires literally slammed in the door seal like before..
loving the vids man,, wish i had a garage set up like yours!
so what's all the gauges? obv boost/temp and stuff, but specifically lol

Exhaust temp, oil pressure/temp, boost and IPP.

The oil temp, and IPP arnt really needed at the moment, purely because im not pushing enough/revving enough to need them, so oil temp just sits 95 all the time whatever, just nice to see pressure when you first fire it up, takes AGES to drop to a suitable pressure, unlike the water which is upto temp within 5 minutes.
cool, and you're waiting to get some decent rods and that before you start pushing too much?
Yeh, need to mtfu and just pour some money into it... or go down a different derv route... have managed to do this on a shoestring, the rebuild cost £15 for the HG, and whatever for the oil. If I put nice rods in, I would have to start taking more precautions... slipperly slope and money pit!

And yeh thanks, the garage is awesome to work in Smile lucky my dad had it installed when we moved here!
How long does it take you to pull the engine out? It seems you've done it so many times haha... That video you've made is awesome Big Grin Good work Smile
Thanks tom, if it was just a straight swap, probably be done in a matter of hours, it just normally involves swapping pumps, heads, turbos over etc, thats the most time consuming part, and then sealing up water blocks etc etc. Actually putting an engine in dosent take that long, just a case of connecting everything up and driveshafts in. I have a small feeling that I dont think this block is gonna last too long though... my brain says more but deep down I know it should be backed off abit...

Just been out with friends in woods taking photos for lols and stuff....
