I have changed injectors, lines, grenade, removed filter housing for in inline filter, leakoff pipes car would start ok for afew days and drives fine now it wont start without some ez start again and once running is fine pulls well no flutuations in revs or anything.

once turned off even if restarted straight away it will struggle and only fire up with a bit of throttle if at all

Does make a noise of exhaust which makes me think its not running on all 4 cylinders but if i undo a line at a time the exhaust note changes and runs abit rough so its surely getting fuel on from all injectors

Its an 11mm pump rebuilt my only thinking now is a pump issue. Whats peoples thoughts?

Sounds like an air leak to me have you for clean lines on to rule this out ?

If you've used easy start a lot engines get "addicted" to it

"Pilot start or Ether based easy start liquids when injested into the cylinders would wash any oil from the bores, which would lower the combustion pressures. When the air in a diesel engine is cylinder is compressed it reaches a temperature of 600 degrees before the diesel is injected, when easy start is used the cylinder ignites way before this temperature is reached. The pre ignition cause the tips of the injectors to be damaged or coked up, making the matter worse."
Only used it it once with the new injectors in. Also with the old injectors the problem started then stopped for abit then started again before any sprays were used. had new inlet lines ye from the grenade onwards
Still sounds like a air leak to me could be the lines before that personally I'd shove on a clear line just to rule it out

If you pump the grenade a few times before you start it will it start strait up ?
No can pump grenade while cracking but wont start
Had a mess last night and found that when priming it builds up pressure then makes a hissing sound so there is def a leak. Sounds to be from the back right of the pump but there is no obvious leaks to pinpoint it. Also when started it empties the fuel filter before taking acre seconds to fill back up so its not getting a good enough vacuum to pull the fuel tho. Is there anything I can do.to find the leak? I was thinking of a electric pump on the fuel in to keep a lot of pressure on it?
Personally I use a air compressor and a rag in the filler cap to pressurise the fuel lines don't go mad tho only needs enough pressure to show a leak don't go putting a few hundred psi or you'll just blow something

Emptying the fuel filter before it refilling means a leak before or at the filter in my experience

I have no idea about the hissing sound your pumps making
just to add to this - before pugfest I put a clear line on the return of this, and there was no air coming through - which would suggest to me its not pulling air through either the lines or the pump.

when i drove it, the engine rev'd freely, and drove / pulled ok without hesitation throughout the rev range.

has it changed any since then?

sounds likes it thumping pretty well on that video, have you checked compression yet?

all you need to start is fuel, compression and heat (glow plugs)

does it bump start?
It still pulls well and drives ok it did cut out at a junction and took little while to restart. No I have not checked engine compression think I will need to get that done. I wouldn't bump when I tryd but it was cold I will try it when the engines warm

It's never thumped like that before and it is no longer doing it today that only happened the past few days.
Surely if its emptying the filter then the filter is getting filled with air and that air must be getting in through a leak ?
Update on way home today its cutting out and not boosting it will boost to 35 drop to 15 then splutter and stutter abit.
could the intank fuel strainer/filter be partialy blocked so taking longer to get the fuel to the filter housing?
It was cleaned out when I got the car but I guess its def worth a check again
if it wont start on its own mate, try getting a mate with another XUD to park next to it, XUDs are pack animals and it might be having solo performance issues, its friend will reassure it and it might start. Big Grin
Rryan had a similar problem. Turned out to be the return line strainer in the union was blocked.
Maybe undo it and rip the strainer out?
Stop solenoid starting to go?
Just take it out and try starting without it.

Glow plugs on their way out? The XUD11 refuses to start without them although if you can't hot start probably not the problem.
It's spitting fuel out the lines when cranking still. Want to check it anyway I need to get the plate off first to get scanner to it.

Is that the one with the tiny hole in? I did blow that though and its been ok for afew days also smoking like f*ck constantly
might be a silly thought but checked the coke cable part is working? mine dosen't and now the temps dropped its abit difrent to start if its sticking would give you smoke to
