Jumping on the GT20 bandwagon after having the TD04 for a while.
I had a HP oil feed made up for the TD04....M10x1.5.
GT20 is M12x1.5.
Could i helicoil the GT20 inlet to M10x1.5 to utilise my HP oil line?
Ive never used helicoils before so im not sure of their limits of use.
Thanks,
Anton
I wouldn't think they would seal 100%, or you could try putting some silicone in their too or some PTFE on the inside and outside, that would probably seal but again it's a massive bodge just get the right fitting I'm sure it would only be a couple of quid from a hydro shop or even ebay.
Id have to get another line made up Dave, with a 12mm banjo on it as opposed to the 10mm thats on it at present.
Unfotunately due to the turbine housing on this particular GT20 it sits an inch further up or else i could have used the original hard lines. No amount of bending will get them to fit i dont think.
I think helicoil is a no go anyway. They wouldnt be the correct size ie a M10x1.5 helicoil doesnt need a hole as big as an M12x15 to work. It only needs a drill bit of 10.5mm to work.
Get a new one made, tat would be hell of a bodge for the 30quid it costs for a new line.
Isnt bodging what owning a 306 is all about?????
