Over here in Ireland, TD04's ain't cheap or common.... Undecided

Start looking at big vans in scrapyards and see what turbos they have. Or if you're interested I know a chap who has a GT2260v for sale for about 150, same guy has a few banana engines with pumps on them too.

Would that turbo be too big though?
GT2260V is probably one of the most ideal turbos possible providing you can deal with the VNT/torque headaches.

I was half thinking of buying it and a GT37/similar sized turbo for my own car ninja
From what ive seen id say 11mm isnt really worth it either tbh :/ Im sure it has its uses but not needed for under 180 imo.
woah woah woah, the internet is getting a bit out of hand here

gt2260v is a bit on the big side for the xud, but flows an absolute bucket load up to and beyond 5k. But its not mega fast to spool on these engines, and given the headache of controlling it far from ideal

Perfect turbo is prob something like a gt2052v which would be instant spool + loads of low down torque, but would prob choke up a bit if you like to push revs.

11mm is absolutely worth it in every sense combined with a bigger than stock turbo.
I'm sure 11mm is great but why is it essential for 180? For the extra cost and time. All the smoke and seems harder to tune/refine.
I guess it does have more potential and I bet it feels awesome at 5k

This is something I like to hear when I'm planning to 11mm Smile

The 9mm would be at it's limits trying to fuel for 180bhp.... No refining in it just need to know what you're doing. I even had mine smoke free off boost once but that's no fun Wink
11mm...I wouldnt choose anything else now...

takes a while to get used to...but its all in the right foot.
I didnt realise how different it is to drive till I let my wife have a drive then me mate...10min and the back of me car was black!!! lol
11mm all the way, i agree.

I tend to use ebay for buying TD04s.
Usually get them around £60-90 all in incl postage
Perhaps postage to the south from the UK is worse than for me up in the north?

For those interested in what a GT2052v performs like on an admittedly damp day...

Cheap, plentiful, perfect combo if you actually need to use your car every day, just gotta be careful of giving her too much air low down as if you get it burning the fuel, it will give you cylinder head issues.

Quite a few of them specify can't post to Ireland. Can't remember if were considered western europe or rest of world Huh postage would be slightly more expensive to here but a very viable option Big Grin

What I really meant was pawing through scrapyards down here, nowhere would sell a GT15 for less than €180 for example (or a K03 for €300 for that matter Angry) where my K14-2/OM606 turbo was £40 in Camlough where I had a choice of 3 to test and choose from.....

Hehehe that looks class craic. Sore on tyres though lol
Completely different style of driving to a td04 though, my car rarely breaks free unless im really trying to provoke it.

If youve any friends or relatives up north get it posted there, they generally dont have a problem posting to the north. Ive had 3 delivered with no issue. If your really stuck you can get it sent to me and drive up for it.
@Mal, you could get it delivered to parcelmotel if your stuck for an address, google it and you'll see all about it.
buy my GT2559v!!!
Firstly, with regards thread title: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBcflBBGKhE
Mal, as conor said use parcel motel, great job, ive used it a few times and its great, they have a collection spot in trim, at topaz heading for batterstown, loads more too.

Im currently looking at either a gt2052s which i have, off a landy though n manifold looks awkward/completely wrong to be able to fit.
Also know a GT2056V going for £100 which is tempting me but its the pain of trying to control the vnt, plus if need uprated head studs etc its all an added cost
Cheers for the offer anto and I may look more into parcel motel in the future for other stuff, not too far away from Trim Big Grin

I guess this was a mini hijack..... But all stuff the OP can use Big Grin

My god thats disgusting, sounds amazing and performs amazing Heart

Go with everyone else, TD04 for now

Darren done the same with his 'GT22 video'

safely say I was eager as a beaver then
Tdo4 for now i think Smile gonna be keeping onto this dturbo for awhile so i reckon ill have time to change it down the line if i want Smile ... whats te difference between the 9mm pump and 11mm pump?
2mm lol

The 11mm puts alot more fuel in mate basically.

Also, what would a gt2052/56 none vnt go like in comparison to ruans video? Lag and pull wise.
So lads the head gasket is on the way out in the 306 Sad so thats gonna have to be done! Imma send it back to my mechanic next week, get the head gasket, timing belt and bosch pump all done at the same time Smile ..... so what exaxtly is needed for a bosch pump conversion? do they fit straight in? injectors and lines are all that are needed with the pump?

You'll need lines, injectors, sprocket + key, and fuel in/return. Relocate the mounting studs. I've missed something, for sure

Why not source out a pre 97 Xantia/406 XUD instead.... Wink
Have pictures of the different parts to make sure i get it all? Smile

I have pics of just the bracket and sprocket.... I really should get pics of the lines and injectors on their own Big Grin

Sprocket and key

This bracket is set up for a bosch pump
[Image: Image511.jpg]

While you have the pump out, gov mod it
i usually run my dturbo (bosch, t2 18psi, standard tmic) on 100% wvo, if i fit a td04 and 11mm pump would this still be possible or would it cause problems, or not make the full power that would normally be expected?
