Hey guys just put a new engine in my car after it spat a rod Sad.
Ive changed the cam belt but its not sitting right seems to be slightly off center.
Any idea what be causing it to do this?
Sorry for poor photo phone is poo.
Thanks jack
Slide it into the center, use a screwdriver etc and prise it over, turn engine around abit etc, be careful not to damage belt though. Turn the engine over by hand 2 times and if its come back check the tensioner and guide
Yeah id say incorrect tension on belt
idler or pump bearing fubared or not seated correctly
that will run the belt off a pulley
Ok off back up the garage tomorrow will try/check all of the above.
Thanks jack
Also make sure the block face is thoroughly cleaned before bolting on idler and tensioner to ensure that they sit perfectly flat against the block.
