A new pair of rear lights and I dyed the trims black instead of disgusting grey!

I don't suppose you're from Reading are you?
What engine is in the red one
I am from Reading, well near enough any way. Why's that?

The engine in the red one was a 106 gti engine, then a 6 and got a feeling he's putting a v6 in
Ahh right, I was wondering if you were Hovis' mate Paul, or just another Paul who happened to have a 205 GTi-6. I think I've met you down at Ace actually
I know hovis well, he's a very good mate of mine!
You may of done mate
I like this! What does it handle like? I'm after a setup for fast road, not sure what to go for...
Very nice looking car mate! Ive been thinking more and more recently about getting my self a 205.

Handles bloody well mate, scare myself every time I go for a sprinted drive!
I'd go for bilstein groupN shocks. PLR tarmac spec springs paired with 21/22mm TB's and group N rear shocks. Also a bigger ARB

Do it! Get one that's been "renovated" first as things can get costly. Beams etc.. but no difference from a 306 really.
309 wishbones on the front make a nice touch, bit of neg camber.

I find 306's to be a bit snappy when driven on the edge
That's nice, I'm not usually a lover of 205's
Thanks Smile
Looks smart! What wheels are they?
Speedline sl434 mate, you can get wider ones for a 306
My patience is running rather low with this at the moment.
The temp went off the scale in traffic in the summer as the fans didn't kick in and since then it's been going into the red quite a few times.
I've just changed the thermostat and fan switch and it still goes into the red and the top thermostat pipe is full of air despite bleeding the system numerous times.

Thoughts are to buy an engine off a mate which has the petert cams. Or a standard engine off another mate

Or stick the derv engine in with the Td04
paul, how plug in play is that conversion?
I bet you shock a few people too, with it been a well tooled up retro classic.
Pretty straight forward to be honest.

Just a couple of clearance issues and the exhaust manifold needs re angling

Oh and wiring!

Getting an engine off rryan on here going to plonk that in

Sell mine off for spares.

That would explain the jumpy speedo!

Everything apart from exhaust bolts and driveshafts are undone
That looks quite a tight fit!
Loads of room Big Grin
There's actually more room to do the cambelt in a 205 than a 306
Not had to do the 205's yet luckily!
Almost ready for the road. Got a driveshaft that fits now Big Grin
I knew I'd seen it before, had a nosey around it at Pugfest :-)
Did you now! Big Grin
what's it like getting the power down to the front wheels?
Fine mate, only spins up if you give it some real shit.

Drove it to Ace and back with no MOT on it ... whoops didn't realise it run out on th 4th

Got a rear beam bearing kit and shafts on order as the beams fubar'd

mine can be a bit like that depending on the road conditions, I bet you have shocked a fare few faces too! As people wont expect something as old as this to move!
