Nice! Get another seat too.. so i can have a ride Tongue
Yep. Got a pair of carbon kevlar wrc spec seats on the way :-)
Just need to sort some proper subframes out and pay for my new harnesses
yeah n grab the cams off it too...they normally throw some funky danglers in the proper rally stuff!!
still needs boooost imo
Epic.. going to be a right little mean machine mate!
I drove it home last night along the proper back roads and it's just an utter joy to drive. On and of the throttle in 2nd makes it spit flames and pop sounding like there denting the boot floor :-D

It's a pain to park with no power steering and not been able to see around you with the harness on but on a twisty road it all makes sense. Steering is really nicely weighted and the throttle response is instant. Absolutely love it :-)

Fit electric PS that the later 106's came with Smile

Cars looking awesome though dude Smile
It has MOT!!!!

sorted the fan out, override to come shortly

the mot revealed a couple of things I haven't noticed though Sad theres some bad rust up the side of the fuel tank that needs addressing asap and both front brake hoses are deteriorated. Good excuse to upgrade to 266mm brakes then I guess
Best of luck for round 2 mate [THUMBS UP SIGN]
congratulations!!

i have some spare 266's

/shamless plug
I assumed it had 266mms already!!
Tbh, '6 brakes are where it's at...

lmao

yeah, that filter isnt doing much in the way of getting cold air into the engine, il be sorting a cold air feed and a proper intake next month
So just a quick summary of the turn my life has now taken..... [Image: 20130823_112806_zps0387c5b2.jpg]

The clutch explodes spectacularly on the way to piggys this morning, currently half way through dropping the gearbox out to see what's happened. Suspect I've pushed the centre out of the clutch or one of the bearings has well and truly shat itself. Pics later when I've fought my way through all these rounded bolts on the bell housing the previous owner thoughtfully left for me
wtf mate really not having any look with this are you
Yeah it's a massive pita so far but I'm glad it happened on a bank holiday weekend rather than on my way to work next week sometime :-\

Only been taxed and tested for half a day and it's off the road in pieces again lol
big shame mate...at least it happened your end...

otherwise we be retro fitting a xud box and clutch on it!!
Aah dude that sucks! Best of luck sorting it out! Got a few weeks at least before combe!
Your as bad as 306GT30 for title changing! Wink

But your luck is shit, hope you get it sorted and get to enjoy it for a bit mate!

have you only got the one fan? as I have a spare metro gti fan, that goes on the back of the rad. you can have for the price of postage, it mite fit as it fitted on my diesel rad, that's thicker than the gti rad. I have just swopped it for R100 diesel fans.
Why would he want two fans???

more weight...no gain!

plus no room for a turbo ninja

im going for twin 8" slimlines when ive got the cash spare, need to be mounted on the front as space is incredibly tight on the other side due to the race manifold
Not having the best luck are you mate :/ but fair play for cracking right on with it!
well my suspicions of pushing the center of the clutch out were right Sad

had an absolute ballache getting the gearbox off due to the separate pieces of clutch plate bonding it all together, ended up having to drill through the bell housing to get to the bolts holding the plate in so it could be dropped complete from the block.

the center of the clutch has been properly pushed through, once the gearbox was free of the engine all the individual pieces of clutch and bearings all fell out onto the floor it was so badly destroyed.
Here is the trouble maker! [Image: 20130824_123432_zps2d2795f8.jpg]

Gearbox back in with new clutch. Had to file the shaft smooth again where the broken clutch dug into the splines
[Image: IMG-20130824-WA0009_zps44ed68b9.jpg]

The Eagle eyed of you might notice that there is a breather filter on the vac line to the servo. I'm really puzzled by this, any one care to shed a light for its reason to be there?

And finally back in with new gearbox oil and a much bigger air filter, tidied alot of stuff up underneath while I was under there, things like moving the coolant pipes away from driveshafts and fuel lines out of the gear linkages etc.

Next step with this car is a major service, new brake lines definitely, a bit of welding on the sill, new bushes, brakes, cv boots, driveshaft gators etc etc etc
Surely that filter on the vacuume line would make the brakes not work right?
