Been sticking straight veg into the tank and its been fine upto today when its started pissing down and now won't start. So whats the recommended mix of diesel to use or even something that will thin it down abit in the bottle?
Some people use a small amount of petrol in a full tank of veg, something like 2 litres is enough to thin it down. Or use half a tank of diesel.
Not sure how cold it is where you are. But i am using 10% diesel atm, in winter i was using 5-10% petrol.
Mine still started on straight veg even when it was almost freezing... How's the fuel filter?
Fuel filters new changged it day before last. Its ⁴ here on the car clock
Hmmmm around the same here, im starting fine and driving fine with 10% diesel
checked ya glowies mate? . . .should be fine in this weather .Smile
4 degree's is about the temperature you start to struggle, esp if it's dipped lower during the night.
Veg emulsifies before water freezes, so low single figure numbers give you a right arse ache with 100% Veg.

Best cold weather mix is:

5-10% Petrol (for thinning)
10-15L Diesel (for performance, cold idle stabilisation)
100-200ml 2-stroke oil (for pump & injector lubrication)
40L Veg oil

I ran that mix in the depths of winter, car starts like a champ first time and runs brilliantly.
Just pour a kettle of hot water over the pump to get her running. Then run 10% diesel
I ran straight veg all through winter and never had issues. Weird.
Can't have got that cold by you.
Is the car garaged or under a car port or something?

When veg gets to 0 degree it's more like jelly, it won't pump, it won't inject and it won't flow past a filter.

Frigging nightmare if you get caught in a cold snap before you've switched to a winter mix.
The car can be out of action for days until it warms up enough to start.
Just out on the street been mixing 10% diesel and seems ok bar cold idle
