Was just wondering if I'm on the right lines
Engine temp can hit 90-95 pretty quickly but then rapidly falls to 80~ then rises to where it usually sits just shy of 90
Hit and miss but most of the time blows cold air
Engine fans come on at around the right time usually but has also came on when the temp is around 80
Odd one just wondering if anyone could shine a light on the subject
You reckon? I'm yet to look tbh but what's the best way of getting that sorted? Just re bleed the system?
yeah sticky stat i reckon mate, mine does exactly the same, i just haven't bothered changing it, i'm convinced that's what it is though . .
I've got the same issue - I'm pretty sure it's the stat that usually causes it.
Shall get a new one fitted Friday and report back with findings :-)
~£20 from Peugeot, got one last week then 90p for the seal.

^^This. I bought a motorfactor stat and it sits bang on 83degrees when running, but initially reaches about 88-90 before coming back down. My coolant system's full of Wondarweld shite though so that's maybe blocked it.
Just to revive for confirmation if anyone finds this in a years time
It was a sticky thermostat.
The old one wouldn't open in boiling water
New one in. Jobs a good un
So no more running at 90c?
Nooope. Coolant fans haven't come on and sits just above 80 :-)
