i was just wondering would the straight diesel xud be able to take a turbo as want to start a project but don't want to convert an engine its just for a bit of craic for a feild car as its a little low on power Smile
From what i remember they arent built as strong but i may be talking rubish
so would just probably better off getting a dt engine and converting it
Yup!
Or buying a dt
Engine swap can be done in a day quite easily anyway.
Nad engines have different piston compression ratios, injectors and manifolds. Dont bother wasting your time, just drop a cheap xud9te in, way easier
If this is just a field car for lols then bang a blower on it! Wack your nad fuelling right up, will need to find an oil feed though
I'm with Dave here, whack on a blower, if it blows then it would just be scrapped anyway so you may aswel make use of it.
I had a thought the other day, NAD's have higher compression right?

Surely that would mean you'd just run less boost? Obviously if the other parts like rods and pistons aren't as strong at DT ones it going to end badly.
bit of a crack for a field car sums this up though...
funnily enough i can imagine it being less work to swap engines than trying to put an engine on an na....
yeh but you wont need to connect up stuff properly, IE turbo return back to the filler neck, and if you didnt wanna bother with an exhaust etc you could do it in half a day
cheers for the advice going to put a turbo on and wait to it goes bang as can get a dt engine for 100 off a mate to put in to it went it goes Smile

ps fuel is out 1 turn and a half on a lucus Smile
haha get a bosch on it,

on a totally unrelated note, I saw this thread title and instantly thought of the song 'put a donk on it' but obviously 'put a turbo on it' is just so much more win..
ozone is selling some HUGE turbos......defo should be done
the straight finally kicked the bucket and im wondering how hard it would be to drop a dturbo in it is there much difference in the wiring and what would need to be changed

rip straight d
no electrical differences atall, the engine will drop straight in (unles you put a massive turbo on the back)
great job will give me and a few mates a job to do at the week end Smile

thanks for your help
