The old girl's still going
#1
Evening all.

Figured I'd chuck a few photos up after a detailing session the other day, and don't have a project thread (as nowt has happened for a couple years, really!) so had to make a new thread.

Was my birthday last week (thanks for the thread, you cnuts!) which marked the 5th anniversary of me driving this thing on the road, and although she's a bit rougher round the edges than she was back then, she's still alive and well.

Apologies for the crap quality, the camera on my new phone is a bit pants.

Haha, the colour is temporary, I just needed a cheap solution, and this respray cost less than a tenner and is incredibly hard wearing. I start a new job on the 1st of september though, so sandblasting and powder coating will be on the cards, there's a place in Brum that does it for £20 a corner.

Cheers dude! Still pretty unique, not seen many other 306s with black roofs, which is nice.

Sorry to bring old thread up but how the hell do you manage 73MPG? I can just squeeze 60 out of mine.

It's never been on C5 steelies Tongue

And the 73 MPG was calculated properly, only error would've been the usual minor inconsistencies in filling up (I always fill to 2 clicks) and speedo/odo error. I followed a tanker most of the way from Brum to Cornwall at ~60mph (on the satnav). Even with 5% error that's still only just shy of 70MPG Wink

Haha, you know I'm only winding you up. I have no interest in 'on a run' mpg myself, do roughly the same mixed driving so I'm more bothered by averages.

My driving is utterly inconsistent, I did it out of sheer curiosity, I hadn't planned on brimming again when I got home, but after 200 miles, the needle had barely moved, so I calculated.

The door interior, is that standard matierial? Mines flagging and I'm not sure if I could get all the glue off scrub it down and spray it.

yes they are 405 wheels. I think they did a 14" version for the 106 iirc though Smile

Yeah, 405 Mi16s, the 106 wheels are somewhat similar, but not really, and they're 14s as matt says.

It's the same size as stock, if not smaller, actually, and a nicer shape/feel. It's a ZX 16v one.
