I only ever made a few posts on here and recently wondered what had become of the forum. I think it is time to consider it officially dead. Maybe admin doesn't quite want to officially call it. But it seems wrong to go out on a whimper. So if anyone is still out there, here is the farewell thread.
I know there's a few Facebook groups knocking about where I suspect most have ended up now

Hi there. You've probably all noticed that lately the site has been hammered by spammers. That was just the tip of the iceberg. There have been 40-50 daily non-genuine registrations. Luckily only a fraction of those have thrown up posts on the site.

It really isn't sustainable to deal with it personally as I'm not able / inclined to check in on the site soregularly these days. Consequently, new registrations to the site have been blocked. It's a sad state of affairs but at least existing members can still be involved if they wish. Cheers.

Anybody remember (or own a copy of, c'mon we won't judge!) the Haynes book "Extreme Peugeot 306 ultimate guide to modifying"?

Our lad has just bought a rolling shell & turns out it's the same car that was the basis of their book and also spent 6-odd years on display in the Haynes Motor Museum. I thought the MoT history was wierd, no history until '09 when it was tested and showing 20k. Then a gap and it was tested again in '13 I think with 995 miles somehow, then another gap and a test in about '18 with it back to something like 21k.

From what little I've looked into things, the shell could very well have under 25k on it as it appears to have been heavily modified early in it's life (possibly belonging to Peugeot Ecosse at some stage) and not really used on the road much.

The plan is/was to rip out the remaining tatty interior bits, stick some seats in it, ABS delete & repower with a mildly lairy 1.9TD. Not sure now though, depending how well known the car is and what history we can dig up on it we might put it back closer to what it was originally. (Honestly it doesn't look super chavvy in the pics I've found, no lambo doors and M3 mirrors at least lol so reasonably tasteful mods IMO).

If anyone knows any more about the history of R580PVC, any previous owners, photos of the car from it's heyday etc we'd be really interested to know more, if only to help with the decision whether it gets derved or not!

Hi all

I am wondering if anyone might have the skills to help me at all with my mystery 306 GTi6.

- So the V5C doesn't even have a model, it simply says it's a Peugeot.
- The V5C and HPI also shows as being imported and a manufacturer date of 2000, but the helpful guys on the GTi6 forum say its a mid 1999 as it looks like a phase 3 apart from the unpainted side strips and orange dials (so likely build just before the formal release of the Phase 3). So the DVLA have the wrong date potentially on the V5C, but the T registration they assigned it in 2001 when imported, sounds right. Not sure why they'd say it was a 2000MY then assign it a 1999 plate!
- Finally, I spoke to Peugeot head office and none of their systems return results for the cars VIN (VF37CRFSW32707086).

I was wondering if anyone here can either decode the build date from the below suspension mount sticker, or find anything from the VIN? Thanks for reading and any help greatly appreciated.

Just thought I'd let people know there is an alternative. I downloaded this way back from eManuals Online.
Https://www.emanualonline.com/Cars/Peuge...anual.html . Only costs £10 (NB I'm 99% this is the correct file. They have lots of different 306 manuals that can be downloaded but many of them are just pdf's of the Haynes manual).

It turned out to be a copy of Servicebox from something like 2011. It isn't a fully working version as you can't locate vehicles by VIN but you can look everything else up by model. Also, you can't see whether parts are NFP.

There are other downsides. It's a huge file to download & you then have to download software to unpack it. It then takes up around 20Gb. Also you have to download VMware player as the Servicebox copy runs inside a virtual XP machine on your PC. It is tricky to set up and not all versions of VMware run on all PCs. Also, it interfered with a recent Windows 10 update on my laptop.

For many of you buying this & going through the hassle of getting it up & running won't be worth it. If you only want the occasional schematic / part number I'll do my best to look it up for you from what I have.

It's been announced today in the news that the Gov't is thinking of making E10 the standard pump fuel in the UK. Just managed to find an ACEA document online in which PSA state all their vehicles from 2000 are compatible with E10. Nothing on which vehicles pre-2000 are compatible.

Anyone here got any further info? Cheers.

Welshpug seemed to think back then that cars with nylon fuel lines should be fine, although seals might not be. Am guessing some of the rubber components in the original sender units might be vulnerable. Also wonder about fuel pressure regulators but both aren't difficult to replace, and you would expect newer versions of those parts would be compatible.
