I've been managing to keep one of my 306XSis on the road for the last 4 years or so. Mostly it's been mechanical stuff that's needed sorting. For last year's MOTs it was the front wheel bearings. Did them myself ....what a pig if a job, although learned a few things that would make doing any in the future a lot quicker.

It leaks in the winter though & I never have got to the bottom of it. Sunroof drains are clear & it's not the aeriel either. It's had a replacement windscreen at some point & I suspect that's to blame.

The latest issue has been the rear passenger wheel arch. I noticed some rust staining in the boot & pulled off the trim to find multiple rust patches. This was just before the MoT. It passed though because it wasn't really visible when looking externally. (Hidden behind seam sealer, underguard & dirt).

On further investigation (read a damn good poke around with a screwdriver) it looked pretty horrific. I've got as far as cutting one part of it out & will patch in some new metal at some point this week (weather permitting). Have some doubts about my ability to fix the area of the wheel arch closer to the boot pan though. We'll see.

I've tried to add some pics but had some issues. There seems to have been an update to the site re how it handles images. Will try again after I've downsized them a bit.

Got a chance to get this for peanuts. Mine is shredded, and I like the look of these better anyway.

Judging from another picture it has an airbag as it has 2 screws on the back. Does it have an airbag? and what issues if any will I hit fitting it in a Phase 2 Cab?
Striped the Splines for the Drivers side Wiper Arm.

Could be an odd question.
Does the Act of bolting the Wiper arm down on the input Splined shaft create the grooves?
I have Purchased a New-Old stock wiper arm, possible drivers side, the part number aren't a match, but overall length/ dimensions are spot on.
Except there aren't any splines in the wiper arm hole.

Am i being daft? Should i be carefully bolting it down smug to 'Press' the splines into the new arm?

I've had a wet passenger footwell twice on my Pug 306 HDi GLX Estate and each time it was the little rubber pipe that loops into the A pillar just above the carpet. The first time I LS-X'd the top of the pipe back into place and that fixed it for a while. This time the damage to the rubber membrane was worse so I cut a couple of brass squares and soldered some telescoping brass tube into them so that I could sandwich the membrane between the plates and end up with a spigot to attach the pipe to. I used a screw (in a little yellow rawlplug) to hold it while I glued it into place with black silicon gasket glue. We've had plenty of rain in the last couple of days, and the well is still dry!
The pipe doesn't seem to be attached to anything on the other side of the membrane, so what on earth does this pipe do? How can this repair actually work!
Thanks,

When I first got my current daily the drivers door was leaking. It was because the cut-out's in the door behind the door card hadn't been sealed up. (Don't know why someone had been in there). Anyway, I sealed it up with some plastic sheet cut to size and fixed in place with hot glue. That seemed to work ...kind of. The problem certainly wasn't as bad but not solved either.

A few months ago the drivers window dropped and I had to repair the regulator mechanism. Because when I opened it all up again I discovered the hot glue hadn't held in place I decided to try some waterproof tape. That has now lifted and is letting in water too. The drivers carpet is now really quite wet n starting to smell pretty funky .

Anyone got ant suggestions re a product that will have some chance of finally sealing up these cutouts? Have searched online for a product specifically designed for the task but not found anything yet.
I have tried bleeding and I can't get it sorted. There is no leaks from what i can see on both footwells.
I have tried flushing and there is water passing both ways.
