The sedan was bought 2022 from a pretty "interesting" character. It was pretty clear from the get go the car would need alot of work but never anticipated at the time just how much work it would need. This car would also be the cause later on for the estate being put on the back burner.

Straight away, the car needed suspension and brakes. The suspension had been lowered till the beam bearings collapsed, front coilovers had spring seats missing to get it lower and the brakes did'nt actually work at all. It was concerning that the previous owner drove it to me to drop it off and shortly after kicked off my "Ain't A Clewes Customs" campaign. If you know you know..

So at the time everything was being done on the side of the road. Xsara Vts rear beam and new ta coilovers were fitted. Rear disk conversion, full gti6 braking system with new brake line. Afterwards the interior was cleaned up with a blue xsi 5 door carpet and grip royal steering wheel.

Later on, I'd then hand spray a Ph1 "sports front bumper for the car and install black mask carrello headlights.

After this the car was driven around and enjoyed for a while. Eventually I built a stainless exhuast system and 10mm pump for the car which would later on inevitably kill the head gasket.

After killing the headgasket its safe to say things went out of control. Ended up raiding the parts bin and robbing the stuff from the estate to build up another engine.
 It came back on the road with forged rods, Gt2052s and 2.5" exhuast sytem.

I'm at a bit of a loss with my Phase 1 GTI - in short, I'm getting no dash, no crank, no fuel pump, no headlights, essentially no power.

What I am getting: hazards, interior lights, immo light, 12v into the cabin and into the barrel.

It was working, running well - 2 days later, I'm trying to get my new fan motor installed and working as the previous had rusted up and seized, alongside a busted heater matrix (which got changed).

I've checked: 
- 12v to the barrel
- Fuses inside
- Engine bay and maxi fuses
- Relays , and they're working
- Power to relays
- Recharged the battery
- Used jump leads with the battery and without the battery connected in case it was a dodgy battery
- Checked earth straps on the gearbox and in the cabin
- Checked the wiring behind the fuse box (as good as I can)

I'm at a bit of a loss.

The only thing's I worked on since it worked:
- Coolant flush (emptied via the stat housing)
- Rear lights refitted 
- Headlight bulbs added
- New fan motor plugged in 

Notoriously, I went to unplug these all one by one to see if they were causing an issue and still nothing.

Any suggestions would be great!]]>

Some googling and Aussie Frogs told me it was either the pump or the relay. I powered the pump up and it sounded OK. 
Am I right to make my next step a fuel pump relay replacement?

But why wouldn't it start with the pump running from a jumper battery?
It's doing my head in.

Closer to Manchester the better but could travel for the right thing. Ideally a standard top-mount (even a DHY lol, got a DW10 laying about with decent rods!) but anything would help.

I haven't driven my car for 2 years and it was waiting for paint, then the work was done and I took my car back.

But the heater fan works non-stop.

First, I looked at the fan relay, it was clean, but I still bought a new green relay, I installed a new fuse, then I bought a 6441A1 (resistor unit), but it still continues to have full power.

Where should I look?

Does it affect the interior temperature sensor (6445AJ)?

the panel lights are working.

A/C and interior cover open and close are working

I removed the brown socket going to the fan and measured it with a multimeter, when I change the fan speed, the volts change, when it is at full speed it is 7.45 v, when it is off (I know it is not fully off ) it is 11.36 v.

I think this means the panel's signals are correct.

But I don't understand why the fan speed doesn't change. I have 2 fan modules, 1 is magnet, Marelli and the other is Sagem, but nothing has changed in both of them, they are still full power.

I just connected the module without connecting the fan and measured the black and red cables that will go to the district fan with a multimeter.
When I changed the fan speed setting on the panel, the V at the module output did not change.

I need some advice where I should look.

Note: The dark brown cable with its empty counterpart at the very end of the panel socket seems to have melted a bit.]]>

Got some new brake pads for the rear on the way, but I feel like theres likley to be more issues given the mention of brake imbalance on the MOT sheets and the fact the ABS light is always on. So figured I'd come and ask if anyone has any pointers on where to look first.
