Dunno how you've managed that. I've never had an accurate 306 gauge lol. They are more accurate at the bottom admittedly. Usually have ~50 miles of the light flickering before it comes on solid, then know I could get another 50 miles with the light on. But above that it was more accurate to just guess how much fuel there was.
