Front top spring suspension
#1
When turning I can hear the spring making a loud noise when doing big turns.

The front shocks on the car are Monroe are these standard or aftermarket on the 306 hdi?

So does any brand make front top bearing fit or will I need to get a monroe bearing?

306 hdi year 2000

Any brand. I'd suggest febi bilstein.

The Monroe shocks are going to be OEM (or near OEM) replacements I suspect.  The bearing doesn't actually sit on the shock ...it sits between the rest cup (which will most likely have been with the car from the factory) and the top mount.

The cup is 2 in the pic below, bearing is 5 and top mount is 6.

I think mine ended up with Febi bearings when I replaces the shocks & springs.  Also worth considering the SKF bearings available from GSF Car Parts.  58% off until Sunday using code WKD58.

If the top mounts look fairly tired & you don't know when they were replaced it's probably worth doing at the same time.

I've just had a good look again and its the spring thats snapped.

I replaced this side 2 years ago but also bought another spring for the other side but didn't fit that. So are all front suspension springs fit either side?

I could use the one I've got if it fits both sides.

The springs aren't specific to N/S or O/S so can be used on either.
