16v XSi Injectors
#1
The early phase 2 16v XSi's (until build code 07664) were fitted with 186 cc/min injectors like the ones below.  They also had different ECU part numbers from later cars and I think put out 132PS rather than 135PS.

I have a reconditioned set of the later ones (200cc/min) like below and the question is whether I can fit them to an earlier build designed to take the 186cc injectors?  Will the earlier ECU adjust the injector pulses to keep the correct air/fuel ratio or is it likely to over-fuel?  Although both versions of the 16v XSi used the Bosch MP 5.2 ECU I presume they had slightly different maps.

Cheers

you need to match the ecu and injector
need a part number? http://public.servicebox.peugeot.com/ and http://service.citroen.com/ will sort you out.

Thanks for the quick reply Welshpug.  I might try to get hold of an ECU to match the later injectors as the throttle response feels slightly better in the ones with the later build code.  As far as I can tell that was pretty much the only difference between them, except the later ones had plastic rather than alloy cam covers.

you would be better off getting your injectors tested and cleaned than messing with ecus

Fair comment.  Unless I can easily find an unlocked ECU at a reasonable price (unlikely!) I'll go down the route of getting the original injectors serviced.
