Timing / Pump Issue
#1
Hi following the purchase of my latest 306 a dturbo s it is running brilliantly actually and covered 600+ miles in the short 5 days owner ship.... however under the bonnet i have a problem with my belt...
Runs true and straight no left to right movement but it over hangs the pump pulley now you can push it back on slightly but when running it will go back straight and over hang. You can imagine every time i use the car its the only thing on my mind. Belt is not catching anywhere, belt is running good on all other pulleys

Any one had this problem before?

I personally have never come across this issue before but i'm sure others have. Something rings a bell that this can be caused when people put the washers in the wrong place when you do the cam belt tensioner. Has it has a belt change recently?

i had this issue, in the end i stripped all pulleys, belts, tensioners and even the water pump off, cleaned the side of the block and re-installed it all again. This sorted the issue

Im unsure about belt change as i have had the car not even a week yet but this worries me every time i use it... everything else lines up but looks like that pump pulley should sit further out

Your tensioner on the backside may not be running true. Whip it off, check the mating faces, check the tensioner isnt warped and re-fit. That would help you identify the issue.

As said will either be something not together right, or if you haven't touched it and it's done it by itself, there will be a bearing out, or bush in pump nose is bad.
