Timing Belt with water pump kit
#1
Does anyone have the product code or link for a Timing Belt with water pump kit for a phase 3 gti6 (1999)?

Dayco, Contitech or Gates would be great.

Getting very confused about whether its 137 or 136 tooth and manual tensioner or spring Confused

Thanks

Thanks Cully

As the tensioner comes with the kit, I shouldn't worry if I get a 137 or 136 belt?

you need to get the correct kit as the fixing post for the auto/manual tensioner is different

you can retrofit the post for the earlier (more reliable and preffered ) tensioner.

Nothing wrong with the later ones at all, I'd go OE if possible as with Trade club they are Dirt cheap

Picked up a Gates 136 kit with separate water pump. Will pop the cover over the weekend just to be sure.

Tas is working on the car next Friday and I'm booked in for a mapping session with atspeed on the 4th.. Coming along slowly Smile

Water pump wise is one of those things, Currently Motaquip are OE as i have never liked most pattern pumps, What do you think of Tas' car

water pump on trade is not bad, belts are cheaper than aftermarket Big Grin

Never got to hear it start, but damn it's nice! Some serious money has been spent on it. Inlove
