1.6 Phase 3 Dash Board Issue
#1
Hello all.

I've been doing some work on my car today and had the battery off.
I reconnected it and my dash is doing what is shown in the video.
As soon as the key gets to the 2nd position the speedo and rev counter climb to max, starting brings them back down and then they go up again.
They stay there and do nothing else.
Also my millage went from ~120k before disconnecting to over 600k.
And a 1 mile drive added the 400 miles you see :/

I think the dash pod has gone and died on me
I'm looking for a new one, I know the millage will be a mis-match.
Do I have to get a dash from the same sized engine car (1.6 TU)?

What work were you doing to your car? Electrics? Check all you wiring again and earths!
Here's a set of phase 3 1.6 clocks from a year 2000 car with 28 days warranty and cheap price!

That's an earth fault, usually the strap onto the gearbox, but check the battery connections and that the battery is charged. Although the mileage is a new one, never seen that before.

Thanks for the input guys.

i only disconnected the battery to reset the ECU, I had a blow on the manifold for a while and after fixing that the check engine light came on. So I tried a reset.

I have checked and cleaned all the earths and also taken the battery off and charged it fully.
The issue still persists, I have ordered a spare dash off ebay and see if that fixes it.
