I kind of thought that! The Gti 6 is geared totally different to any car that I've driven, I can do 30mph in 6th! Smile lol!

Out of curiosity what does the speed in 6th gear top out at with the standard limiter? Anyone know? A friend of mine had a 410bhp 6 until recently and I'm sure that's been over 160mph.

I hit the end of the speedo on the autobahn on a downhill. Couldn't get a totally flat section but generally around the mid 120s to 130 I think but then that's indicated speed rather than actual speed. Don't think you quite hit the limiter, just reach a point where you can't overcome all of the drag forces eg. air resistance, friction, hysteresis in the tyres etc.
This post is an artistic work of fiction and falsehood. Only a fool would take anything posted above as fact.

Shut up Niall,

Yes there is.

If you own a petrol and don't take it to the limiter what's the point

I saw an indicated 140 in my completely standard rallye on the autobahn. Was then flashed out the way by a diesel touareg.
Hit the limiter when it was a v6 at 142 on satnav, now hits top gear limiter at indicated 134, should be about 126.
