gear box code

Can any 1 help me out I'm looking for a gear box code on my 306 1.6

It's an MA gearbox, if that's the code you're looking for?

If not, there is a flat plate on the 'box, usually just below the clutch arm on the front, if you remove the corrosion the numbers are written on there.

Cheers mate think it is ma box but need a code been told so I can get the right box

The long code only proves the ratios afaik, any other MA box from the same era (106, saxo etc) will fit as well, its just that the ratios might be different.

Ok mate cheers do I just need to make sure it's tripple linkage

Yeah does need to be triple linkage if yours is. The top linkage can be different, angled at 90 degrees instead of straight, but you can just buy a different link rod anyway.

Would 1 out of a 206 fit

The 206 uses a hydraulic clutch on at least some engines so the 'box wouldn't be compatible. I don't know if they all used a hydro clutch though.
