I can't help but feel disappointed by a vote of 'more of the same please' concreted by the consensus in Westminster. However, hopefully the record turnout will increase political activism in the general public and we can instigate some real social change.

It just concerns me that ALL the main parties agree on anything, frankly. There was no pro-independence view in rUK.

Well, hope the rest of the world watched as it was a clean, democratic vote with a "loser" who accepted defeat.

Change will still happen, which is a good thing

The problem was because the split was so even you were always going to pee off half the population. I'm glad the scots got to decide for themselves. And for those not happy with the result it doesn't mean in 10-15 years there can't be another referendum.

We didn't! I'm as Scottish as haggis but I didn't get to vote yet half a million English did get to vote, how is that fair.

And Salmond has just said he will now step down. Great politician there. Don't get your own way so have a tantrum.

To be fair, it was fairly likely that he was going to stand down had he lost the vote by any notable margin - he'd staked everything on this and it had pretty much been what he'd worked towards his entire political life. To lose the vote and attempt to remain leader of the SNP would have been pretty untenable I should think.

What's more interesting than Salmond is that all the change talked about in 'the vow' is already being put on the back burner.

Ed Milliband is already the Tories greatest electoral asset, why not be the SNP's too? lol

The only good thing is that the Tories won't need UKIP to form a govt.

Not quite how it works though... I bet all the Scots who now live in the UK would be quite the other way if they DIDN'T get the vote here.

It's Scots registers at a Scottish address; similarly to how 'we' vote down here

Sigh what a load of bollocks. I love how now days when people don't get their own way, they can't accept it and have to find ways to make out they are right.

2 things. Firstly, why would these people falsify ballots when they are in plain view of loads of people and cameras considering they are probably being paid a minimum wage and it's quite a serious criminal offence.

Secondly, it the government really wanted to rig this, do you really think they would let things like this enter the media? No. They would of just lied about the overall figures.
