Rare cars you dont see anymore,

Sad thing is, I reckon in 5 years time the 306 will be added to this list. So many perfectly salvageable cars being broken for spares because they are worth more that way. Its gonna happen.

They're not worth anything in parts either now as standard, only if they're literally mint (I'm still yet to see one I'd call mint!) or full of mods are they worth much in parts.

Tbh, I already barely any see on the road, and the ones I do see really shoudn't be on the road lol - usually with the rear wheels almost hanging off due to a failed beam. I imagine they're just run till the MOT runs out and scrapped, and I don't see a problem with that, they're not anything special, just another boring old family hatch really. Only ones worth saving/keeping will be GTi6s and Rallyes...but they'll never be the 'icon' the 205 GTi is.

I've had both a Maestro (metallic gold 1.3 HL) and a Montego Avantage (burgundy 2.0) but would have loved the MG turbo version of either.

Good example of this is a repeat of Traffic Cops on Dave now, must be about 10 years old but all the cars have disappeared now!

For example they've just done a Rover 213 for no insurance, not seen one of those since Keeping up appearances lol

That's the shape I referred to in my previous post where my grandad worked there & arranged for his 1989 one to be badged & registered as a 216 SEX as the last ever one produced Big Grin

His was virtually identical to this but reg was G241 FPW and it had navy blue velour interior!

now that's a car that you don't see at all! I remember a kid at school who had just left, had one, and did a burn out coming out of school. That was back in 1998.
I think those were related to 2 other cars, a triumph acclaim and the Honda accord.

Coventry transport museum has a silver XSi with like 4 miles on it. lmao
It isn't that mint tbh though as it has been sat forever.

Yeah, I very occasionally see a pov spec ph.1 diesel but driving my gti6 around I've yet to see another nice ph.1 gti6 or otherwise.

Thousands of ph.2 and 3s around though, still see them in car parks and on the roads everywhere!

I saw a yellow mk.1 escort yesterday, and a peugeot 405 sti the other day.

I still go up there to start it and move it back/forth. still meaning to get it to my mates garage ( seen him yesterday) as he said I can leave it there and we can potter about with car at our leisure to restore it. needs nsr wheel arch, both valances and an o/s wing..........
theres no room in his garage as he COLLECTS citroen bx's....has about 4 and 1 in his garage at home, he just loves the xud cars, but he also drove to cornwall to get a 16v 4x4 gti---apparently only about a dozen of them on the road ???
The 4x4 are rare as! One on eBay but went for a fortune and needed loads of work. Would love one myself

My first Mini cost me £250 back in 2003 and wasn't far off passing its MoT, nowadays that wouldn't even buy you a rusting hulk !

There was a article in a paper a few years ago about the rover 800, saying where have all the Rover 800s gone. This was before the scrappage scheme kicked off, as that was one of the most lux rovers out at the time before the Rover 75.
I have noticed the prices of the proper minis have jumped right up in value too!
plenty of them about, as see quite a few knocking about on the road.

also I haven't seen a Peugeot 309 at all for a good few years, where have those gone?

Wow.

I think they are only worth that as people use the shells to build rally cars etc. so what you are actually paying most of the 8 grand for is the intact mk1 shell. lmao

It looked like this one had full cream leather judging by the headrests.
