want to remove the O/side drive shaft to replace the rear engine mount for a vibratec bushed mount
how much oil am i going to loose from the GTI6's gearbox ?
i plan on replacing the diff seal too
if i jack it up one sided will i get away without loosing any?

Yes jack it up 1 side and very little will be lost iv done it a few times

Needs to be jacked up quite high...
Why not just drain ans refill?

cause its got new oil in it from when the clutch was done
may just catch what comes out and put it back in the top

The drain stud is on the bottom so just drain it out and refill it back in the breather on top when you have the shaft back in.
