That's interesting to know.

So as long as I get my trailer type approved, it can tow it providing me licence permits?

Yep. Aslong as the vosa people say its good and approve it your good to go.

got to say the half car trailers are awesome, especially if you match the wheels and lower it to the same night lol
when in doubt...... flat out.

More progress today, got the front end cut straight, measured up and ready for the drawbar to be fitted.

Not sure if it is a 'home made' trailer as it was made by Peugeot, all I've done is remove the front . . . Wink

More progress today. Welded a draw bar and some strengthener bars on the front. I mounted a jockey wheel but I think that can go tubby bye byes because of the speed humps.

All good fun. Smile

Think I'd of made the draw bar shorter as that is awfully far back as a trailer. Looking good so far though.

(I'd have . . .)

I did shorten it. It has to be long enough to allow the front car to open the tailgate. The jockey wheel is really pi55ing me off though as it cost about £20.

A jockey wheel can be really useful though. get one of the ones you can slide right up out the way.

Here's the other side with the shorter bar (and no sheep, oh no, it is in the back of the car).

This is sick, i so want. Need to remove the seats, fit a false floor and make it into a bed+storage. Tint all the windows, fit blinds. Oh, make me one in china please.

At the front, I have welded a bit of angle from one side to the other so it can be used as a support for a floor - level with the back part. I'm going to make a cardboard cut out of the side contour then make two floor pieces that join in the middle, carpet them for comfort and insulation.
The side doors lock from the inside, the rear has the key.

My only concern at the moment is the slight 'instability' of it. But a bit more welding and some more bracing should sort that out.

The hand brake still works!

I was going to use cardboard to make a template of the whole area as the carpet doesn't cover the bit where the seats used to be.

Quick update:

I have made a front end, welded it on and riveted it in place. The stability is brilliant now, no flexing on the drawbar.
Electrics are connected, only snag are the numberplate lights. Need a couple of new light pods for the plate.
Tomorrow, I'll be taking it for a spin on the road.

I scored some paint from Aldi, silver metal paint (their version of hammerite) for £5 a litre.

Jockey wheel is getting used on another trailer, I'm making a 'sliding pole stand' for this one - ground clearance is key!
More pics to follow.

Epic progress mate.

What would the legalities be of having passengers in it?
